In response to it's failed antivirus update last week,
McAfee has formally issued an apology to its customers. The vice president of customer service support, Barry McPherson, issued an apology for the most recent DAT file upgrade that caused users' computers to either continue crashing, or consistently keep rebooting. As of last Thursday morning, the company had also issued a patch that fixed the issue. For those of you looking for the patch, it should be listed on the
McAfee web page, and is more formerly known as the "SuperDat Remediation Tool". In addition to the apology and the patch,
McAfee has claimed future problems will be snubbed before they begin as the company will increase testing so Windows users will not see problems from upgrades again.
