For me, it was nearly impossible to get ahold of anyone from Kingston Technology Company. I read online that they offer 24/7 customer service, so I didn't worry about what time I should could call them. Instead, I chose to call them late in the evening when I had spare time — which may have been a mistake as I struggled to get ahold of anyone. The only thing I can conclude is that either their service is not great or it's not actually truly around the clock. Either way, I was unsuccessful in getting through to anyone who could help me.
When you first call you're thanked for calling Kingston Technology and informed that you can press 9 at any time to repeat the menu. Next, the recorded messaging agent launched the first directory tree. I was told if I know my party's extension press 1, for product information, press 2, for system installation or a problem with Kingston's products, press 3, and for all other departments press 0. I first attempted to press 2 since I wanted more information about the USB I purchased and to know whether it was compatible with my computer because it wasn't performing as expected.
However, I was told to leave a message and someone would call me back in the morning. I can only imagine how long this process would take, so I attempted to call again to see if I could reach someone live via another option. I figured if I got to a live agent they could get me the information I need. This time I pressed 0 expecting to get a listing of other departments. Instead, I was told once again I could press 9 at any time to repeat the message and that the receptionist's office was closed. Yet again, I was told I could press 0 to leave a message.
I called again to try one last time. During the initial directory tree, I pressed 3 to see what would happen, but was met with the exact same outcome. It was pretty clear at this point that I wasn't going to talk to anyone that night.
The website doesn't have a live chat option, although they do offer an address to send an email — which I chose to do. In the end, I left a message on the voicemail line and wrote the company an email. Now I'm hanging in limbo hoping someone will get back to me. I tried the Canadian line as well, but they have the same options as the US line so that didn't help.
