My Experience Calling 800-333-3474

My contract is almost up with AT&T, and I wanted to explore other cable options before I signed into another one. Sometimes, you get better rates when you shop around as a new customer, so I thought I would look into satellite television. I've never had DISH before, but I figured if the price was right then i am open to anything. I have no idea what DISH looks like in terms of pricing, and I hate trying to sort through all of the promotions online and in the mail. Therefore, it makes it easier for me just to call them.

DISH probably gets a lot of phone calls from people throughout the week. People like me who want to start their service, end their service, complain about their service, or deal with outages or billing problems. With that in mind, I expected to wait a bit on hold because that seems to be what happens with cable companies. To my shock, my experience with DISH took less than a minute. I've never been able to get to a live agent as quickly as I did with DISH, and that definitely has made me think about signing up with them. 

When I called, the automated assistant stated, "Thank you for choosing Dish. Calls are recorded to improve your experience. Let’s look up your account. If you have a DISH account or pending installation, you can enter your phone number, including the area code. You can also say, sign up for DISH service." I replied, "Sign up for DISH service," as instructed, and then it told me to "Please hold for the next available agent." Then the hold music started to play. It was admittedly a fun and vibrant tone, but a customer service agent had picked up before I could even think about it. 

I was on hold for maybe two seconds, and the entire phone call up until now only took 48 seconds. That is some real turnaround time. Muriel had a slight accent, but he was very friendly and talked to me about several promotions that I might be able to take advantage of. He also asked me about my current plans and what I pay, which I found helpful because he helped me look at what would be competitive to make the choice easier for me. I was so impressed by the entire thing that by the end of the phone call, I was a new DISH customer. Now, I'm just waiting on my DISH installation, and I'm set to go.
