I bought several items from ebay.fr from this vendor (https:**www.ebay.com*usr*misscata?*trksid*p*******.m****.l****) and paid by cheque. The items (embroidery thread) didn't arrive and I assumed they were lost in the post. However, when I contacted the vendor to ask for my money back or a replacement, she refused and said she wasn't responsible for things that go missing. In other words, 'tough’. I protested and said she had to supply my goods or give me a refund and she then accused me of having received the goods and just not wanting to pay for them. It is not the money that concerns me - it's only seven euros and not worth bothering about - but I do rather object to being accused of theft and it strikes me that if this is how the system works, any vendor could ‘sell’ any thing and then not send it and the buyer would be out of pocket and unable to get their money back. I can't see any way now of having any satisfaction in this matter due to how the Ebay refund procedure works (or fails to work) for cheque purchases and am only glad it wasn’t for a more expensive item. In view of this, I would suggest it is time for Ebay to switch to Paypal and credit card payments only: paying by cheque has left me vulnerable to this very unpleasant exchange with an unpleasant vendor and I wouldn't want others to be in a similar position (I will, obviously, never use anything but Paypal again). I have been ding-donging with this vendor since May and the dispute procedure is now about to run out of time: and I can't even leave negative feedback as it is too late to do so, which is doubly galling. So, I will put this one down to experience, but it's left a very bad taste in my mouth. Yours sincerely.
