I was trying to visit my friends and family for Fall break. ... Scheduled a trip from Hamilton College roughly three weeks ago for today. ** minutes before *I was going to leave, I received an email that my trip is canceled because there is no car available. I had to cancel all of my reservations and only got to see my friends and family for half of the time I expected to see them.
This was incredibly annoying because I wasn't alerted about my trip being canceled until thirty minutes before I was supposed to leave. If they canceled a few days ahead that would've been fine and I could've gotten other transportation. I also stayed on hold for forty-five minutes and never got helped, so that was great too.
I would be thankful for any sort of compensation, but I honestly don't expect to hear back.
I was new and I had much too high of hopes. This service is incredibly dysfunctional. Cars are late or missing, it's way too expensive, and the customer service, once I finally could talk to someone, accused me of taking the car out already.
I had to get a Zipcar from Syracuse, which cost me one hundred and eighty dollars for the uber there and back, and drive until three AM in the rain. I guess I fixed it, but this cancellation honestly ruined my trip, so thank you for that.
