We want to start a School of Dentistry Educational YouTube Channel and probably a similar SOD Social YouTube Channel. * *We are interested in any ideas on setting up these channels correctly. Where can we get more information on how to proceed? Are there ways to contact a representative of YouTube directly?**We have many talented teachers who have produced excellent instructional videos. Each video could begin with an image representing the school followed by a disclaimer (example below) and then the name of the presenter along with the subject and date. This seems like a great way to market the school in a useful and professional way. We want to make sure that we follow your rules as we set this up.**A few ideas:**. Besides setting up a University of Utah School of Dentistry Educational YouTube Channel, we could also set up a separate University of Utah School of Dentistry Social YouTube Channel. The Education Channel would just be for approved educational videos and if possible would be divided into categories like Operative Dentistry, Fixed and Removable Prosthetics, Implants, Oral Surgery, Endodontics, etc. We may not have videos in some of these subgroups at first, but it might encourage instructors in those areas to develop videos in their area of expertise to be on the SOD channel. Can we link videos that are a series into groups?***.The Social Channel would probably be divided in the four student cl***es and other categories and include student videos, graduation videos, dental trips to help those in need, etc. A committee would probably be needed to control the quality and type of videos that appear.* **. We could add music and*or words that plays during the beginning of each video as the (*) SOD sign, then (*) the disclaimer, and finally (*) the Name of video creator, subject of video, and date are showing. It would be the same for each video except for part *. We could end each video with one of the other UofU SOD pictures and words like “Property of the University of Utah School of Dentistry" or we could end with a statement like “Please attribute to the University of Utah School of Dentistry and author(s) cited” and “Use, display, and redistribute all or part for non-profit educational purposes only.” Maybe even include a copyright symbol. * **. The committee that decides which videos are accepted on the YouTube channel could also decide when to retire videos that have become too dated.* *Sample Disclaimer:*The University of Utah School of Dentistry videos are offered for educational purposes only.*The viewer is fully responsible for the use or application of any concepts in these videos. Some procedures or techniques demonstrated may no longer be in use. The advice of a competent dental professional should always be sought.*All products used in these videos are for instructional purposes only with no implications for commercial promotion.**Please share any ideas you may have or where we can get more information on this topic which would help. Again, I would love to talk to a representative from YouTube who has expertise in this area.* *Thanks! *Ken T****ll**-***-***-****
I trust that YouTube will make this right and come up with a resolution that is fair.
