I purchased an Xbox One S a couple days ago, and it came with a pre downloadable game (Sea of Thieves)*but unfortunately I'm unable to play it. After downloading it and following the instructions,such as going to the Xbox store and redeeming the **-digit code, whenever I try to play the game, it goes to a screenthat says join Xbox Live Gold. There's also ,on the bottom left hand corner of the screen a box that says continue. After clicking that box it goes to another screen that screen gives me an option of three different prices that I have to pay and on the bottom of that it says use a code or no thanks if I click the know thanks box it takes me to another screen, and that screen says sorry you are not currently allowed to join any sessions. Please check your account settings and try again and in parentheses it says avocado beard. There is the word continue underneath that and whenever I click it it takes me right back to the main screen of sea of Thieves. Now I'm feeling resentful that I purchased this video game system because now I'm under the impression that I can't play any of the games unless I have some kind of subscription and if that's true that is very unfair to the consumer
