Service Request * ***********We have $*** invested into this refrigerator and spoiled food due to it’s failure immediately after purchase. I am trying to get a refund on this refrigerator, since I cannot rely on Whirlpool product to deliver during the epidemic. Home Depot sent me to you to solve the problem since I am beyond ** days of ownership.**I’m a retiree with a liver transplant. I am immune suppressed, and subject to extremely bad outcomes from COVID-**. I can not have contact with other people, or any contaminated surfaces. My wife and I purchased the Whirlpool **.* cu. ft. Top-Freezer to help us weather the lock-down we are experiencing. We expected no problems because Whirlpool is a top brand with good reviews.**Unfortunately, Whirlpool customer service has not adapted to the new realities of a COVID-** world. This refrigerator has never really worked. It tested out OK for a few minutes, but we could not immediately put it into service because of COVID-** preparation. When we hooked it up and loaded it with food, it failed within a day. The failure ruined $*** of meat which had to be discarded, and another $** in milk and vegetables.**My first experience was ** minutes on hold waiting for a customer service representative. My contact with Whirlpool Customer Service was with Sholette in Florida region (***-***-****). She could only offer me a service appointment and an extension on the warranty. Since I can’t have anyone in the house, due to possible contamination, this was a non-starter.**She escalated my request to Tennessee, where I spoke with Kayla. Basically, same problem, no admission that COVID-** changes the way we do business, but she did offer a $** rebate. I asked her to escalate the problem to the Care Resolution Escalation Team, because the old ways of doing business do not match the COVID-** world. **Asking me to have a service-person in the house is a life-threatening event. This will not work! I need this refrigerator taken away, and a refund issued.
