On Thursday, March 7th, before 4:30 p.m. I was online using my number (+27)[redacted]85. I then went offline for less than 30 minutes, only to discover that my number was banned from using WhatsApp. After reading the FAQ, I suspected it might be because I was using GBWhatsApp. Even after uninstalling GBWhatsApp and installing the original app, the issue persists. Today, March 10th, the problem remains unresolved. I contacted the WhatsApp team for assistance as I believe I have not violated any of WhatsApp's Terms of Service. I have used this number for almost two years without any issues. I suspect my account may have been hacked to get me banned and prevent me from contacting my friends and family. Kindly help me resolve this matter and inform me if my account was indeed hacked.

Hello Team WhatsApp, I am Rohit, a senior bank manager at India's second-largest reputed Government bank. I have been a WhatsApp user for over five years without violating any Terms of Service. My number, +91-[redacted], is a valid mobile number that I have used for over 10 years. Unfortunately, I was recently banned from using WhatsApp due to an error in categorizing my phone number as "non-mobile." I recently switched to a new Samsung Note 8 but continued to use WhatsApp on my old Lenovo K6 Power over Wi-Fi, which may have caused the confusion. I am concerned about a security breach on my WhatsApp account. Someone other than my boyfriend and daughter seems to have access. They are sending unsettling messages, mentioning having children together when we turn 30, although my boyfriend and I are in our 50s. The intruder might have hacked in on March 11th, using my boyfriend's email. Despite my attempts, I am unable to change the contact email or emergency email linked with the account, with two check marks indicating another user. I have been unable to contact my boyfriend to resolve this issue. The hacker is accessing old photos and making inappropriate comments. I urgently need assistance to remove this unauthorized user and secure my account. My boyfriend's name is Richard Venkatesh. Thank you for your help.

Hello, I had a WhatsApp account under the phone number +[redacted]8. This was a prepaid SIM card I bought in Spain, which expired a few months ago. Despite the expiration, I could still use WhatsApp, so I didn't switch to a new number. Today, while chatting as usual, WhatsApp notified me that my old number was no longer valid, prompting me to update to a new number. Unfortunately, I didn't have the option to change to a new number and fear I've lost access to my account. I'm concerned someone else may have acquired my old number and gained access to my account. I recently received a message from Sarah Eccles in South Africa asking for urgent help with a verification code issue. I tried to assist her but then my WhatsApp stopped working around 7:45 pm last night after forwarding the code to her via SMS and WhatsApp. Later, a friend in the UK informed me of a suspicious message requesting a verification code supposedly from me. Concerned about a possible hack, I contacted support and requested to suspend my account. I am still locked out of WhatsApp and would like clarification on the situation, how my account was accessed, and when I can expect access again. I have been using WhatsApp with my phone number for years without any issues. Recently, after updating the app, I have been unable to use it. Despite trying to re-download the app multiple times, I keep receiving an error message that says: "Can't register this phone number. You can only register with the phone number that was last used with WhatsApp on this phone." This is confusing to me because it is the same number and phone that I have always used. I am not very good with technology, but my children gave me an iPad and a smartphone, and I started using WhatsApp. Recently, I received a notification that my WhatsApp would stop working at the end of March unless I updated it. When I tried to enter the required password, I couldn't remember it and failed multiple times. The alternative verification method, involving a cooking question, also didn't work for me, preventing me from accessing the app fully. As a result, my family and friends might think I am avoiding them. Due to a physical disability, filling out questionnaires is time-consuming and frustrating for me, especially because my children who set up the iPad are overseas and not always available to assist. Furthermore, the email address I have been using for years is now considered invalid.

Hello, I want to report that my WhatsApp number, [redacted], was hacked by someone who sent me a fraudulent message claiming I won a 25 lakh rupees lottery from a national SIM card lucky draw competition by KBC. The individual, who identified himself as Mr. Akash Verma, asked for my bank account number, name, and a colored photo. When I provided the information, he requested [redacted] rupees, which I refused. After negotiating, he asked me to turn off my phone until 9 pm and requested my WhatsApp code. When I turned my phone back on after 9 pm, I discovered my number had been banned from WhatsApp, and people were calling me about the fake messages sent from my account. The ban occurred shortly after I joined several Hindu religious groups through invite links on a website on March 28, [redacted], without posting any messages. I recently switched from Vodafone to 3 on Wednesday, April 3rd, keeping my old number [redacted]. During setup at Carphone Warehouse, a temporary [redacted] number was utilized. While I can receive calls and texts, accessing WhatsApp has been problematic. Despite multiple attempts, I am continuously blocked and prompted for verification. I visited the store on Thursday and Saturday, with no success unblocking the phone. The number in Settings>About Phone is [redacted]10, but calls and texts come through on [redacted]56. This issue is critical for my work communication. WhatsApp functioned on my old phone but not on the new Samsung A7 with 3 Network.
