I recently noticed a discrepancy regarding charges from a hotel. There was an additional charge on my account which was made in error by the hotel, resulting in overdraft fees. The hotel has acknowledged the mistake and reversed the charge. However, I am concerned about the overdraft fees caused by the error. I want to ensure that I am not held responsible for charges that were not made by me, particularly for small purchases like a $2.50 coffee at McDonald's that resulted in multiple overdraft fees due to the hotel's error.

I have been a long-time client of Sterling National Bank residing in Israel. I received an email about the upcoming merger with Webster. After visiting the Webster Online website, I found that their services might not be accessible outside the U.S. Will I still be able to access my accounts post-merger? I am concerned about the future of my checking, money market, and CD accounts with Sterling. The representative I spoke to was unable to provide clarity on this matter due to the merger being a recent development. Thank you. - Sidney F.

I am a Sterling National Bank client, and I recently received an email about the upcoming merger with Webster. The correspondence provided a link to Websteronline.com, where I found the Frequently Asked Questions section. One specific question was regarding accessing services outside the United States, with a response indicating non-support for this overseas. I am concerned about potential implications for accessing my accounts post-merger, including closures or the need to withdraw funds. Despite seeking clarification from a Sterling representative, I was informed that details are still emerging and no updates are available regarding the merger. I am seeking clarity on the implications of the merger on my accounts. Thank you. - S. Frisch

My mortgage was transferred to Webster Bank in December [redacted] without prior notification, following the change from Sterling Bank. I received a check from Sterling Bank in December [redacted] for $[redacted].27 addressed to Patricia A. Plaster and Donald K. Plaster. Unfortunately, my husband passed away in August [redacted]. Webster Bank updated the names on the account to Patricia A. Plaster and Estate of Donald K. Plaster, but I have not received a corrected check. Despite speaking with the Escrow Department, the issue remains unresolved. I am contemplating switching my mortgage to another lender due to this problem and am unwilling to pay fees for simple inquiries. Please reach out to discuss and rectify this matter. You can contact me via email at [redacted] Thank you for your attention to this matter. Patricia A. Plaster

After the recent app update, I lost access to my online banking. The system does not recognize my password. Despite spending over 5 hours on the phone with tech support since yesterday, my password has been reset multiple times with no success. I have tried logging in from my phone with the new app, from two different browsers on my tablet, and from three different browsers on my PC, but nothing works. Interestingly, my wife can easily log in using her User ID and password as she is connected to my account. However, I am unable to reset or recover my password or User ID. The tech support team is located in the Philippines, and their accents make it challenging to address my issue. As a loyal customer of Webster Bank since [redacted], I am now contemplating switching banks.

I recently fell victim to a scam on Facebook Marketplace. I possess all the screenshots of the conversation. The individual I interacted with solicited a $[redacted] "refundable" deposit for an apartment. However, following this transaction, they stopped responding to my messages inquiring about the apartment or refund. Their Facebook account no longer exists, and they continue to ignore my attempts to reach out. While I understand that there may be limited options due to the use of Venmo for the transaction, I have reached out to Venmo for assistance with no response yet. Retrieving this money is crucial for me, and I am determined to explore all possible avenues to recover it, armed with the text messages and receipts as evidence.

Hello, I am currently trying to sign up for an online banking account with Webster. I've been a customer for years, but I am facing issues with the enrollment process. After filling out the online form, it indicates that my credentials cannot be verified and advises me to contact customer service. Unfortunately, I am unable to make international calls from Denmark where I am studying abroad. I would appreciate any assistance you can provide on this matter. Thank you.

Webster did not mention any issues when accepting a significant amount of money from me to open an online Brio CD. Despite correctly answering their ID quizzes one per day for several days, they are withholding the funds until Experian gives approval. They promised to connect me with specialists or call me back but have not followed through. My trust in their online banking for a better interest rate has been shaken. Their service resembles robbery more than reliable banking at this point.
