The issue in GetHuman-intoeden's own words
On June **, I purchased this sink* vanity with the understanding that the delivery timeline of "on or before July ** " would be accurate. I was told that when it arrived at the local delivery site, I would be contacted within * days.*I contacted a plumber with the tentative dates for installation.*A few days before the **th, I contacted Wayfair to check on the status and was told that it was on route to the delivery site and would, in fact, be there by the **th. I was not given info. about the the delivery service. They would contact me.*The **th came and went without a call*email.*On August ** I checked the tracking status and the date for arrival had changed from the original date of the **th to the **st. I contacted Wayfair again and had a lengthy, ridiculous conversation. I was told that these dates are estimates “subjectable to change”. I said, “so basically, this could be indefinite”. She said, “no, but I can’t guarantee when it will arrive”. I said, “Then it is indefinite. I am well read and understand the clear timeline of ON OR BEFORE THE **TH to mean that a time is estimated before the **th but becomes concrete on the **th. The timeline does not state ON OR AROUND THE **TH, or AFTER THE **th. So, therefore this is indefinite”. *We went back and forth as I repeated,” I would like to know when this is coming as I have to schedule a plumber (which is virtually impossible in our town’s housing shortage*building over-scheduling). She said the timeline would not change again after the **st. I asked if the timeline could change again, an unlimited amount of time. She said it would not change again. I asked if she could guarantee that and she said, “there are no guarantees in life”. I told her we were not having a philosophical question, but a customer*retailer question. She proceeded to tell me she orders things all the time and they don’t arrive on time. I told her retailers constantly use the word “Guarantee” and if they can’t, there is compensation. Either your delivery is indefinite or there is a guaranteed last possible date. There are no other options.*I am quite sure it is not the policy of Wayfair that there are “No guarantees in life”. I am extremely upset by this interaction and this whole purchase. Our bathroom has sat without a sink*vanity for weeks. It is now Friday, the **th and I have still not been contacted. When I look at the Wayfair timeline, it has changed BACK to say the vanity arrived at the delivery site on the **th. So where is it?? School starts on Monday and our house is without a bathroom sink. I am leaving for out of state cancer therapy the following week while my family will be here to deal with this mess and trying to get a plumber in here (if the sink does ever arrive). *All of this personal information is verifiable and not to claim a “sob story” but to let you know what a real life customer is going through and why your claim that you are “Just what I need” is, in fact, exactly what I DON’ T need right now.*I could have easily purchased a similar item at Menard’s down the road, and had it here a MONTH ago. Robin finally said she would offer me **% off, which I assumed would be off of the vanity price. I told her I would take it but if I had not heard from the deliverer by * days after the **st, I would be extremely upset. On email arrival, the **% was for a future purchase. At this point, there will be no further purchases from Wayfair, and surely not on a furniture item that would even make the **% anything close to compensation. * I encourage you to pull up the recording of our conversation and hear for yourself the ridiculousness of it. You will hear that I am not an irrational customer, nor do I make it a practice to complain to retailers.*I would like an immediate response to this, MY VANITY, and adequate compensation to this entire hassle (especially the condescending phone call) and time I have put into it OR I will be posting this letter to my **** Facebook friends as a warning against purchasing from Wayfair. They know me to be a rational and underreacting person, and I can GUARENTEE they will take heed . PS – I have a screenshot of each timeline*date if you need**Thank You,*Amy Topp****-***-**** * *****@***.com
