The issue in GetHuman-jeffanke's own words
I have a dilemma that is seriously affecting my ability to survive during this pandemic. I’m a ** year old disabled man that survived on my SSI disability along with my ability to work part-time as a substitute educator with the Kent Public School District. Since my SSI is barely enough to cover my rent, I was blessed with the ability to work as an “on call substitute” with the Kent school district. Since the covid-** crisis my ability to work stopped in March ****. Because of the “Cares Act” we were promised assistance through unemployment. I started a claim as soon as I was assured no more work was available with my school district. I did my due diligence and submitted my claim since March **** to present. I was able to survive thus far with the help of my local food bank and a grant from the PSE to keep my power*electricity as well. I finally received ONE payment of $***.** on June **th with the expectation of future payments. Unfortunately that was the only payment I received until I was told that my payments were stopped because “I was no longer eligible to receive benefits at this time because you didn’t work at least *** hours from ******** to *********”** It was a surprise to me because, even though I was working part-time, I was not able to work more than ** hours per week as it would affect my SSI disability payments. The advantage of being an “on call” substitute was because of my disability I could take jobs on a daily basis as my disability enabled me to do so. Now that my unemployment has been denied I have NO income but my SSI payment of $**** per month I now have no other income. I know that many others have been affected by this Pandemic but it has now affected me on my ability to survive! My ability to pay any other bills but my rent I am in a panic! It is very scary to be in this situation and I am looking for answers. This is affecting every aspect of my life and I’m looking for answers as I continue to be “drowning” in debt! * I am looking for help and*or assistance before my situation becomes a financial nightmare. Is there any advice or assistance to help sustain my already serious situation? I’m in a panic mode right now with no idea how I can sustain and exist?
