get a refund ... I accepted delivery of a futon, even though it arrived late which was quite an inconvenience. It also required considerable assembly and I had to have three people in to do it for me. It was not until assembly was complete and my guest tried to sleep on it that it proved to be defective. It partially folds up in the middle when someone lies on it. When I requested a refund, I was told I must put it back in the box, otherwise the shippers would not accept it. Considering the difficulty I would have dismantling this large, heavy piece of furniture, I find that unreasonable. Even if I were able to do it, the box would then need the heavy strapping around it, like that which held it together upon delivery. I have no way of providing that without going out and purchasing special equipment. Considering the inconvenience I have already endured, I believe Walmart owes me a refund without further delay and should not expect any more labor or inconvenience on my part. If Walmart wants the defective item back, Walmart should send someone to retrieve it as is.
I ordered this futon in order to have a bed for my expected company to sleep on. It should have arrived a week or so before that, but came the day before my company arrived, when I was busy cooking and making other preparations for guests. The living-room was then a scene of turmoil for three hours, while three people worked at assembly of this heavy item. When my guest did try to sleep on it the next night, it began to fold up in the middle. We ended up putting the mattress on the floor for a bed. *When I applied for a refund, I was told to put it back in the box. I called explaining the impracticality of that idea but without advanced notice, a Procan employee arrived to take it and naturally refused to take a whole sofa as he could not possibly move it by himself and besides, his company only moves boxed items. I called again and was told to wrap it in plastic, another impractical suggestion and one which Procan still would have rejected. I called again and was told that I would hear back within ** hours, but that was a week ago, so it seems I am not being ignored.
I want a refund without further delay or inconvenience on my part.
I have been a Walmart customer as long as I can remember. I am ** years old and do most of my shopping at Walmart.
We tried adding a bed-board, then an extra foam mattress, then both to the futon frame, but nothing made it stay flat for sleeping.
