The issue in GetHuman-misterhu's own words
I placed an online order on February *, **** for grocery pickup at the Walmart located at *** Walmart Way, Midlothian, VA *****. Pickup was at *-*pm. I arrived at *:** and tried to check in on the mobile app which didn't work. I parked in pickup slot ** and called the phone number on the sign to check in* had to leave a message*no answer. I sat there another ** minutes until it was *pm. I spoke with one of the employees that was loading other customer's groceries and they advised they would check me in. Another ** minutes passed with no results. I then abandoned my vehicle and went in the store to find a manager to assist me. I ran into the actual manager that was in charge of the pickup area service (Christy?). She took my information, processed it, and repeated apologized. She advised that I should have received an email earlier that day stating that their staff was limited and they were running behind by up to *.* hours past the scheduled pickup times. I never received such email about this at all. I went back to my vehicle and sat there for another period of time. The manager then came out to me again and said they only had five more items to pick from the shelves to complete the order. I accepted and waited. Then it was *pm with no results. I sat there over *.* hours waiting for my order along with many other customers waiting the same time and longer in some cases. This is only the third time I've used this service. The first two experiences were much better and very timely* most convenient also for my work schedule. During this occurrence, the weather was below freezing, had snowed, dark, and I had a *.* hour commute to get home (I told this to the manager in a very civil manner never getting upset about any of the delayed service like some other customers). The manager had heard complaining from so many customers, she literally looked to have been crying about the situation. Receiving my order almost with two hours of waiting, I understand not everyone or process is ***% all the time. However, due to my inconvenience of no prior notification of the circumstances along with sitting in freezing inclement weather for almost two hours, and never even being offered a discount or anything else, I am really not happy about this experience at all. Myself and family are really upset about this experience. I am requesting some sort of Walmart gift certificate or credit applied to my account for my inconvenience. This is very shortcoming of a Walmart experience and this order was primarily a grocery order with perishables. We could have shopped at another grocery store in the area but entrusted that Walmart would provide a quality customer service experience like the first two visits. I would appreciate a response with a solution provided to us so that we can continue to utilize this service. I look forward to hearing from you soon. *Respectfully, Darren M. Hurley
