I have a pre-paid debit card. It's a debit card issued through Walmart and is a VISA debit card. In April, I had * unauthorized transactions occur. I contacted the company to file a claim and to get information about how these transactions happened. All they could do was to have me wait for ** business days to see if the transactions posted. In the meantime, they issued me a new card. (I don't have the dates for these initial unauthorized transactions or the date the replacement card arrived. It was about April **, ****). The funds were replaced after waiting the ** business days. This replacement card, the second one, was then used for an unauthorized transaction on May *, ****. This transaction was by a company in Pennsylvania, Waymart Eyecare Inc. for $**.**. I contacted Waymart Eyecare Inc and was told they had no record of the transaction or my debit card number. I contacted the debit card company about this again. And again, they sent me a NEW Replacement card. I received this card via Federal Express on May *, ****. And then yesterday, May **, ****, another unauthorized transaction occurred. This transaction was made by Ross Stores ****. Again, I contacted the card company. They are now sending me a third replacement debit card. All of my financial activities are tied directly to my Walmart Debit Card. My Social Security check is going to be deposited to this card on May **, ****, and I'm fearful that this card will also be hacked and all of my money will be taken in unauthorized transactions. If this happens, I will be unable to pay my bills, rent, unable to purchase groceries*food and will not be able to handle any financial emergencies.
