My husband picked up a prescription for me at Walmart. I have been getting it there for many years. He mentioned that the price seemed high. I checked and I normally pay $*.** for ** tablets. They charged $**.** for the same amount. I called the pharmacy within ** minutes and asked for an explanation and they said they were out of levothyroxin and gave *him euthyroid instead. I told them I hadn’t opened the package and wanted to wait for the generic I usually get but they said they could not take it back, even tho it was in cardboard boxes unopened. That I would have to call Humana and then she hung up! I called Humana and they said it was up to the store to handle it. I tried to look up the pharmacy manager of the Walmart in Mt View but it seems there is a job opening for that position. Called the general number for Walmart but the phone rang for over a minute so I hung up. The person I talked to at the pharmacy said she was the one who waited on my husband and told him it was a different provider, but he said she was Asian and was wearing a mask so it was difficult to understand her! He is also slightly hard of hearing. I believe that if someone is picking up a prescription for someone and there is a change in the product, that the pharmacy should talk to the person for whom the prescription was authorized. I would have said no way do I want something different than I have been taking for many years.. I do not want these bubble packaged pills and want them to replace my regular levothyroxin I am very disappointed in this pharmacy’s handling of this problem. They were the ones who changed my prescription, not me. Seeing as I called so quickly and the packages have not been opened I should be able to exchange for my normal pills when they become available! *I hope this can be solved to my satisfaction so I can continue to use Walmart. There is a real difference of $**.** dollars at stake. Thank you!
