ON *-**-** AT **:**:** AM I WENT TO THE WALMART STORE **** US HIGHWAY * PORTAGE IN. BECAUSE THERE WERE ONLY A FEW REGISTERS OPEN AND THE LINES WERE LONG, I HAD TO DO THE SELF SCAN. TO START WITH THE BAGS AS USUAL ARE SO **** HARD TO OPEN YOU HAVE TO SPEND MORE TIME OPENING THEM THAN YOU DID SHOPPING. I ASKED THE LADY WHO WAS ATTENDING THE SELF CHECK OUT LANES IF A LOT OF PEOPLE COMPLAINED ABOUT THE DIFFICULTY IN OPENING THE BAGS AND SHE SAID THAT THERE WAS A LOT OF OTHER COMPLAINTS. I ASKED HER IF I NEEDED TO TALK TO THE STORE MANAGER AND SHE TOLD ME THAT I DID NOT BECAUSE, "IT WAS NOT THEIR PROBLEM". I ASKED IF I HAVE TO CONTACT THE MAIN OFFICE AND SHE SAID YES. KIND OF RUDE.......... I NOTICE THAT YOU NOW ARE RAISING PRICES AND WE ARE PAYING HIGHER PRICES FOR ITEMS BUT I ALSO NOTICE THAT THE QUALITY OF PRODUCTS AND SERVICE IS DIMINISHING. MY WIFE DOES MOST IF NOT ALL OFF HER SHOPPING AT THE MEIJER STORE RIGHT ACROSS THE ROAD FROM YOUR WALMART. *YOU CUT BACK ON EMPLOYEES SO THAT YOU CAN MAKE MORE MONEY AND I DO NOT HAVE A PROBLEM WITH THAT UNTIL IT PLACES ME IN A POSITION WHERE I HAVE TO PICK UP THE SLACK FOR YOU SUCH AS DOING MY OWN CHECKING AND OPENING SUB-STANDARD BAGS. I HEAR QUITE A FEW EMPLOYEES COMPLAINING ABOUT HOW THEY ARE TREATED WHICH EXPLAINS THE WAY THEY ARE TREATING CUSTOMERS NOW. THIS IS NOT RIGHT AND AFTER FIGHTING WITH MY WIFE OVER WHERE TO SHOP, MAYBE SHE IS RIGHT AND THE LITTLE INCREASE IN COST IS OK SINCE THERE IS BETTER QUALITY AND SERVICE IN THE MEIJER STORE.
