I recently filed for unemployment and have received two mailings, one containing my pin number and the other detailing the dollar amounts and week amounts I am eligible for. I filed my weekly claim for the week ending 02/06/[redacted], providing two job search contacts, and received confirmation via email that it was being processed. However, I did not receive my benefits via direct deposit today as expected. This is my first claim in [redacted], and I am unsure if this week is a "waiting period" where no benefits are paid. I have not heard from the VA unemployment office since receiving the initial mailings. My former employer assured me that I would be eligible for benefits. Could you please clarify if this is a waiting period week and inform me when I can expect to start receiving benefits? Thank you.

Dear Virginia Employment Commission, I would like to address an issue I encountered while trying to register online on March 23, [redacted], the day I was laid off. It seems there was a mistake during my registration as I was only recognized as registered to Job Services. After two weeks of struggling, I finally managed to register properly on April 6th. Currently, when I log in to the VEC System, it indicates that I do not have any eligible weeks to claim yet. I am concerned about the two weeks ending on March 28th and April 4th. Will I lose these weeks since I can only file a claim for my first check on Sunday, April 12th? I patiently waited for my PIN and benefit determination letters, only to discover the registration issue. I am worried about losing those weeks and would like to know if I can still claim them this Sunday. Thank you for your assistance.

I would like assistance with updating my address on my account as it's necessary for the account to be current. I prefer traditional methods over AI automated processes. I'm feeling exhausted both mentally and physically after being laid off, adhering to an 8:15-4:15 schedule for the past four weeks. The extended shutdown by my employer due to supply chain issues is causing further strain as I am running out of food. Michelle Williams from the Emporia office reached out last Friday regarding my initial concern, but my social security number couldn't be added to the system. I requested for further assistance from her and her manager, Mary, who also couldn't resolve the issue. Communication occurred with Michelle around 1:00 pm and with Mary on a conference call around 1:30 pm.

I am writing to report an error I made while filing my unemployment claim. I mistakenly submitted a new claim on the website, though I had already been granted unemployment on April 24th. I also attempted to file my weekly certification outside of the designated Sunday-Tuesday timeframe and would like to cancel both actions. I'm feeling upset and frustrated by my confusion but did not intend to commit fraud. I have left a voicemail at the Henrico VEC office seeking assistance with these issues. I hope to rectify this situation promptly so I can continue with my weekly filings without any further errors.

I filed a claim for unemployment benefits too early on 4/23/20. My employer will pay me for my owed vacation days until 5/12/20. As a result, I am ineligible for unemployment until 5/13/20. Although I received my approved Monetary Determination, I sent a Claim Cancellation Form to halt the processing of my claim due to my upcoming payment until 5/12/20. I am yet to receive any notification regarding the Request for Claim Cancellation. Kindly confirm if my cancellation request has been processed in your system so I can reapply when I am eligible. Thank you for your help.

I am Dora Johnson. I applied for benefits on March 11th and have received my eligibility paperwork, but my EDD card from Bank of America has not arrived. When I contacted them, they mentioned that my paperwork has not been sent over. If there's any action I need to take, please advise, and I will handle it promptly. If there's a way to expedite sending my paperwork to EDD for Bank of America to issue my card, kindly arrange for that. I would appreciate a prompt response as I have a compromised immune system and going out is challenging for me due to being a type 2 diabetic. Thank you for your assistance. - Dora J.

I may have missed a payment due to an error in filling out my weekly claim. I work for two weeks and then have two weeks off due to reduced hours from Covid-19 at The Brittany Condominiums. I receive my pay every two weeks for one of the weeks I work. In the weekly claims report, it asks for money earned, which is concerning because it might imply I was paid for a week where I didn't receive wages. I am unsure which week the benefits deposited into my account correspond to. I have reached out with a letter but have not received a response. I would appreciate an account of the payments made and the corresponding weeks, as well as guidance on how to differentiate between money earned and money paid. It seems like I may be missing a payment for my last week off. Thank you for your assistance. Regards, Marsha B.

On April 2, I was laid off and filed for unemployment benefits successfully. However, when trying to claim for the week of May 3 - 9 on May 11, an error message "file not open" kept appearing. Despite trying different methods, I couldn't resolve the issue and decided to reopen my claim out of fear of losing benefits. I had to wait for the determination and a new PIN. I finally managed to claim for the week of May 10 - 16 without any issue. I am aware there is a 28-day window to file weekly claims, and I missed claiming the benefit for May 3 - 9. I'm seeking guidance on how to recover the missed benefit as it plays a significant role in supporting my family financially. Thank you for your assistance.

I have been attempting to contact someone at VEC for the past month, trying to call and request a chat session nearly every day. I have also sent emails to Customer Service and through the Communications Center, but I have not received any responses. Additionally, I have not received any mail explaining why my claim has not been processed. I am in need of assistance regarding my claim, as the local VEC branch is currently closed. How should I proceed?

My employer closed their Virginia operations on 5/28/20, resulting in my layoff. I have applied for unemployment benefits but haven't received any payments yet. Despite filing weekly, my account status shows an issue. The phone line ([redacted]) is constantly busy. The Radford, VA office mentioned a problem with vacation pay, which was included in my final check on 6/5/[redacted]. I reported this to the unemployment office. I haven't received any updates from my former employer and remain unemployed. Attempts to reach the Roanoke, VA office have been unsuccessful, leading to a full voicemail box. I seek assistance with resolving this issue promptly.

I applied for unemployment benefits and received PIN [redacted] on 5/18/20. I have been completing Weekly Certifications for the last 5 weeks but have not received any benefits yet. I have tried calling the Customer Contact Center multiple times, but I couldn't reach a representative. The voice response system mentioned that my account balance is $[redacted] but there seems to be an outstanding issue preventing the processing of my claim. Unfortunately, I haven't been able to get more information or resolve this issue. I understand the situation is difficult for VEC right now, but I'm struggling without any income to pay for rent or food. I just hope to know when my benefits will be approved and when I can expect the funds in my bank account. Feel free to reach out to me at [redacted] or call me at [redacted]. Thank you, W. Cocke

I spoke with a deputy who provided me with the necessary information to apply for unemployment benefits. Following this, I received a monetary determination notice in the mail. After filing for the first week, I checked the status via the automated system and it indicated there was an outstanding issue. Despite my attempts to contact the [redacted] number for months, I have been unable to resolve the issue and have not received any payment. Initially, due to lockdown restrictions, I estimated dates and pay rate on my application because I couldn't reach my employer. I have since updated this information. Additionally, I was employed through a temp service at the job in question. I incorrectly indicated that I quit when I was actually fired for absenteeism. I have now corrected this error on my application in hopes of resolving all outstanding issues.

I learned on May 29th that as a daycare provider with a drop in children I might qualify for unemployment. I called around 4:15 pm and spoke with a young lady who took my application. She mentioned I would receive a denial letter but should then apply for PUA. After not hearing back in four days, I called daily and was told to wait as they were busy. After three weeks, I was advised to contact the Fredericksburg office. The lady there, possibly Mrs. Bockner, guided me through the online process. The original lady who assisted me was new but polite, even sharing a personal note about her mother's situation. I hope this clarifies my original application date. I shared this information with another lady who succeeded in her application. I am eager to receive the benefits due to me as a 73-year-old widow facing financial strain. Thank you for your assistance. Sincerely, Gayle P. Dunn

I started working in Virginia in September. In March, after being laid off, I applied for unemployment benefits. I was denied by Virginia for eligibility. Subsequently, I applied through Missouri where I had worked before moving to VA. I received benefits from April until May 30th. Now, Missouri denied my claim and is requesting repayment. Their letter mentions receiving PUA funds, which I didn't. I need guidance on my next steps as I haven't received any payments in the last 4 weeks. Also, I'm unsure if I'll be reimbursed the additional $[redacted] weekly benefit for the period I am requested to repay Missouri. I'm seeking clarification on whether this reimbursement will be handled through VEC or if I need to apply separately.

I submitted my application to VEC on June 4, [redacted], and received benefits until June 22. Unfortunately, someone has accessed my personal information, including SS#, DOB, and PIN, to file a fraudulent claim in my name on the VAWC website. This has caused my own claim to be overridden. After contacting my local VEC agent, I was informed that a new PIN would be issued and sent to me. However, I am unsure how to reactivate my legitimate claim now. When attempting to file a new claim on the VAWC website, it informs me that I already successfully filed an initial claim last week and prevents me from proceeding. I am stuck in a situation where I cannot access my Unemployment Benefits. What steps should I take to resolve this issue? Thank you, Michael E. Wright

I am Levonia Jefferson. On July 9th, I spoke with a representative who mentioned that I should have received a deposit of $10,[redacted] on my government card, but I only had $7,[redacted] in my account on July 8th. I have experienced difficulties reaching customer service as the lines have been busy. Another representative mentioned multiple deposits on my card dating back to June 10th, but the only one I received was on July 8th. When I called [redacted] for assistance, it said I didn't have an open week. I am confused as I have been filing weekly and have not received the funds. I filed on July 11th and did not receive anything this week either.

I have encountered an issue with my unemployment payments due to receiving vacation pay from my previous employer. Despite indicating on my weekly filing that I had received vacation pay, the checks stopped abruptly, and I presumed everything was resolved. Upon trying to collect, I received a message about an "OUTSTANDING ISSUE" and despite reapplying, the problem persists. I have attempted to contact multiple phone numbers without success. I expected to be contacted by a deputy if there were any problems as stated in the materials provided, but I have not received any communication. I spoke with Carolyn Maddox at MiCar, who informed me that only the layoff terms were reported regarding my departure. I am seeking clarification on this matter urgently.

When trying to submit my weekly claims on Gov2Go, I noticed that the timeline is not displaying any dates for filing. As a result, I've been submitting my claims directly to VEC and unfortunately have not received any PEC payments. This issue with filing weekly claims for PUA on Gov2Go has been ongoing since April. My contact numbers are [redacted] (cell) and [redacted] (home/office). Thank you for your help. Sincerely, Morris C., Sr.

I filed a claim in May and received my monetary determination on May 10, [redacted], along with my PIN number. Each week, I file my claims and have registered for Kansas and Virginia workplaces, even though I currently reside in Meade, Kansas. I haven't received any communication from VEC regarding my claim status. When checking my weekly claims status, the system reports an outstanding issue preventing processing. Despite calling 20 to 30 times daily, including Saturdays, I can't get through as the line is always busy. I've also emailed and sent letters to VEC without any response. Kansas Works has forwarded my information to VEC, but again, no reply. I'm reaching out for guidance on how to resolve this issue.

I am experiencing difficulties filing my weekly unemployment benefit claims with VEC's automated system. Despite being initially told I was ineligible for benefits in November [redacted], I later received a letter confirming my eligibility. Despite numerous attempts to contact VEC, the high call volume has made it impossible to get through. However, on August 1, [redacted], I managed to speak with a representative who confirmed my eligibility for the PEUC program and regular unemployment benefits, including retroactive payments from November [redacted] onwards. She assured me that my application was processed over the phone and no further action was required from my end. Unfortunately, attempts to file claims on August 2, [redacted], and August 9, [redacted], have been denied due to an outstanding issue on my account. I am seeking resolution so that I can receive the unemployment benefits owed to me since November [redacted].
