The issue in GetHuman-allysial's own words
On August **th **** I went shopping at the Victoria’s Secret in Kingston, MA. I was greeted and began shopping and then all of a sudden I started being followed around. It became apparent that the employees thought I was stealing (even though I wasn’t) they were literally grabbing sweat shirts out of my hands and even embarrassed me by placing me in the fitting room near the cash register even though someone had already opened one for me across from the register. I then heard over the head phone piece “make sure you watch her”. The one particular customer service associate who was constantly following me around (while ignoring other customers and not greeting them) was asked for help for back up at the register and said to them “sorry I can’t right now I need to watch up front”, mind you I was the only customer up front. When I received my embarrassing fitting room on the side of the registers (I mean come on, who wants to try on bras with a line of customer right out front of your door) they knocked on the door THREE times to make sure I was “OK”. (I was in the fitting room for all of ** minutes.) When I left the dressing room there was a sales girl outside of my door WAITING for me to grab what I didn’t want out of my hands. Disgruntled, I went back to try on a few more sweat shirts and sweat pants and at this point just tried them on over my clothes on the floor because I felt so uncomfortable. This time the same sales associate followed me and stood in front of me while I tried things on and made sure to make me hand her anything I took off after trying on. (Not even asking if I wanted to buy it). By this time I felt so uncomfortable that I just went to the register with two sweatshirts and a bra even though I still wanted to keep shopping because I thought I was going to have an anxiety attack. I purchased $** worth of product. I then heard (again over the headset) “make sure you follow her out”. The cashier ignored the customer behind me in order to walk me out to the front of the store. Keep in mind this was around *:** in the afternoon and I was the only woman in the store younger than ** years old. I had braids in my hair and hoop earrings with Nike sneakers. The other *-** women in the store did not receive this same ridiculous treatment that I did and it is very clear I was being discriminated against. I am a middle-aged, single mother with an income of about $**,*** a year. I love Victoria’s Secret, it is the one time I get to spoil myself a little bit without my daughter pulling at my leg. The discriminatory acts from the employees at this store ruined that for me. I am so outraged and disappointed with the way I was treated and am in such shock that I am ready to take this story public to social media. I would like your company to make this right and maybe teach your employees on how to not harass a customer. I have NEVER experienced this type of discrimination or harassment ever in my life and I will NEVER step foot in that store again and will be returning the items that I purchased because I will not support a corporation who encourages employees to harass a customer that they assumed to be stealing. I have video footage of me in the fitting room and how many times these girls knocked. Victoria’s Secret owes me a sincere apology and find a way to make this right. This was not good customer service! I walked into that store and was instantly ambushed and labeled as a thief!
