Help with my Verizon Wireless issue

I bought a Verizon Recharge Refill card because I ran out of high speed data and i wanted to add more i put $** on the card i called i made the payment i got a text message saying $** has been posted to my account i tried to add the data but it wont do it it keeps saying ***device and SIM not compatible. I am a new verizon customer this is the first month using verizon service i do wish to stay with verizon but i need this issue fixed asap thanks
