The issue in GetHuman1907902's own words
Over two years ago, I tried explaining that Venmo that I was charged twice. After an incredibly extensive back and forth, I was frankly left very confused. I was disappointed in the company's way of handling my issue and I decided to use PayPal. Years passed, I forgot about it.**Today, my good friend sent me $** for concert tickets, through...Venmo. I was emailed a notification that my account was frozen due to the fact I owe a balance. I re-visited the issue and I am perplexed as to how it is that I owe this balance.**On March *, ****, my friend Annie requested $***.**. I sent her the $***.** through Venmo. The payment went through. I knew the payment went through because I am alerted by Chase. I was notified by Venmo that the payment did not go through because it was "unauthorized" by my bank. But not problem because they sent Annie the money. I sent it again hoping that the payment would go through this time. Relying on Venmo's speculation that the payment did not go through, I believed that my second payment would be the only payment--thereby making Venmo whole--$*** spotted by Venmo, $*** sent by me to Venmo. This was incorrect. I was confused at the time, especially after this company tried to charge me double. I was too busy arguing that that did not make sense to realize that I was indeed charged twice by my bank. I was credited $*** by Venmo, which makes sense because I had double paid. However, we are even now. I do not owe $*** to Venmo. I just confirmed that through my bank statement and through a customer service representative at Chase.**I meant to pay Annie $*** but per Venmo did not go through. Venmo sent her $*** anyhow. I paid Venmo $***. Turns out first payment did go through. I am then credited $***, which is fair because i double paid. How is it that I still owe Venmo any money?**Venmo paid a payment on my behalf, I paid Venmo. I was incorrectly charged twice, but I was credited. I am not understanding how I owe this company anything. Venmo OWES ME $** from a while ago that they kept ad a credit and $** my friend paid me last week that they also illegally kept as a credit.
