My family arrived at the Ocean Spray (blue house) on March **th at *:** PM. We were booked for * nights. This is not my first time using vrbo for a rental so I always make sure to inspect the house thoroughly. When walking through I noticed a splatter stain on the side of the island, sand on the coffee table and all over the floor throughout the house. I attempted to to sweep it up, starting in the master, with the broom in the laundry area. When doing so **** that was embedded in the broom smeared on the floor in the master bedroom. It smelled horribly. I then found the cleaning wipes under the kitchen sink and wiped up the smeared **** on the floor as well as trying to get it out of the broom. I couldnt get it all, and honestly I almost threw up in trying to do so just from the smell alone. I put it back in the laundry room and I let the owner know via phone call. When checking the beds in the rooms I found a ton of hair, people and animal. It was honestly disturbing. There was stuff on the floor in the guest shower, hair in the master shower and around sink area. The worst of it all was when I checked the master bed. I pulled back the bedspread and was so disturbed by what I saw. There was **** on the inside of the bedspread in multiple spots and I found At Least two Urine stains. I put my nose down to see if it was in fact urine and it Wreaked! It smelled to strong I called my husband into the room and he couldnt believe what he was seeing and smelling either. I contacted the owner, looked for alternate bedding, that was Also dirty. She stated that she was going to see if she could get someone out to the house to clean, they ended up not being available until the next day. There was absolutely No Way we could stay the night there, it was completely Unsanitary. I have two kids, * and ** and there is no way I could ever let them stay in something like that. We discussed with the owner that there was no way we were staying, and we would like a refund. She was very apologetic and agreed to refunding us our money for the rental. I have taken pictures, I have proof of the conversation, as it was done over text. When we contacted her asking if she sent the check she promised, we got Nothing. I've tried reaching out and there is no response. *When returning home, we had a notecard in the mail stating that she would refund us our $*** cleaning deposit. This is completely unacceptable. All my family and I would like is to be refunded the full amount of $****.** that we paid for a rental home that we could not stay in due to the condition it was in. I'm a very fair and understanding person. However, we were promised something that we did not get. We chose the house based on reviews, description and pictures, and we did not get what was described. We did not stay in the house longer than an hour, I even attempted to clean (which is something no renter should ever Have to do coming in)
