I have a Vizio tv, model D**u-D*, serial* LWJAUDAR*******. It was purchased from Sam's club on **-**-****. I purchased also an extended warrantee for * additional years from Square Trade. *On *-**-** the screen went black, the sound was still present. I found after turning the tv off, then back on , the picture would come back on for *-* minutes, then go off (black screen)*Ever since the tv was new, I have always had the picture mode set to "CALIBRATED" with auto-brightness "OFF" Backlight was @" **% ". This gives me the best picture and this is the adjustment I want.*After calling Square Trade, and after * hours of them telling me to change all kinds of settings, and eventually going back to factory settings, it was found that if I turn on auto-brightness to "medium", and reduce the Backlight to **%, the picture will stay on, and not go black. They them told me it is a "SOFTWARE ISSUE" and there is nothing wrong with my tv! They said VIZIO must have made a software upgrade. *I believe there is a definite problem with the tv, and of course they would say there is not, so as not to have to pay out on a claim. What I would like is Vizio's technical opinion of this issue with the issue here. My own opinion is there is a component failing , and not allowing a high amount of backlight any longer. If you conclude there is a problem, I would like your written opinion, addressed to me, referencing my model and serial*, and if you think it should also be addressed to Square Trade as well, to do that also. I'm not asking you to fight my battle , just need your expert opinion as to what is going on with the tv. Square Trade is a warrantee company, not an expert repair facility for Vizio Products.Thank you very much. My name is Ken DeHaan, **** Angling Rd., Portage,Mi. *****. Phone* ***-***-****
