Flight *** OGG TO LAX DEC ** **** FROM A Million Mile Flyer And Platinum Member. When we usually fly Ogg to Lax we take the late evening (**-**pm) flight. On Dec ** we had to to meet others for business reasons coming into LAX around midnight. Therefore we scheduled the *:**PM from OGG. Arriving at the OGG airport about *:** pm we found the flight delayed until AT LEAST * Pm. WITH NO NOTIFICATION TO US BY UNITED BY EMAIL OR PHONE EVEN THOUGH I SIGNED UP FOR NOTIFICATIONS. * EARLY THAT MORNING UNITED KNEW OF THE DELAY OF ** HOURS BEFORE OF THE PLANE THAT BECAME FLIGHT ***. Four different screens at OGG showed * different departure times AND ONE SHOWED IT "DEPARTED" when it had not yet arrived to become Flight *** United personnel at OGG knew almost nothing about the incoming or outgoing flight *** After spending * hours at the airport the plane left with NINE PASSENGERS * HOURS LATER. REPEAT * PASSENGERS TOTAL. (All * passengers in First Class of ** seats) I cannot estimate the business monetary cost or inconvenience of that day but it certainly far exceeded the paltry $*** each in tickets OR the useless miles they offered us as compensation. Miles (I have way over a million) that I have attempted to use in the past but never find seats for Award Miles. I HAD TO USE TWO REGIONAL AWARDS ON THIS FLIGHT that were wasted as EVERYONE in ANY class were upgraded to First Class. Again there were NO passengers in the economy section as most had secured another flight or another airline to get home as scheduled.
