The issue in GetHuman-borahme's own words
I booked a basic economy ticket in order to SAVE money (confirmation - C**H*P). First problem was that there was a glitch in reservations and my name was “undefined, undefined”. Second problem was that my flight was delayed over two hours. The agent in Chicago helped me get my name issue resolved and offered a flight change because of the delay. I kindly explained that I’d rather just get to LA, but asked if it was possible to at least wave the checked bag situation since my bag was very small and could easily fit somewhere on the plane. It also contained a dress for a wedding I was in the following day. The agent said since my ticket was basic economy this was not allowed so I still had to pay $** for the bag. This was understandable, until I got on the plane and realized there were about ** empty seats, therefore plenty of room for my bag to fit up top. THEN When I arrived in LA at *:**am, my bag was still in Chicago. so I had to spend $** on a Lyft to the apartment I was staying at, then an additional $** on Lyfts to and from the airport to pick up my bag. Delivery was not an option since I needed my dress for the wedding. Due to this experience I do not plan on flying with United anytime soon. This Basic Economy package is not worth it. I kindly ask for a refund for the $** unnecessary bag fee, and $** for the transportation fees to-and-from LAX to get my bag. Very disappointed with my United travel experience
