The issue in GetHuman-mrssheeh's own words
I was booked on Flight *** from Honolulu to Newark on July **, ****. When we booked the flight my husband requested an upgrade using a regional upgrade. Although no upgrade was offered, I was number one on the upgrade list. **I boarded the plane and took my seat **K. Prior to taking off, two United employees who were on the flight in first class were relocated to Economy Plus. At that point one woman from Economy Plus was upgraded to First Class. I waited to be upgraded, but it did not happen. I checked on my phone and I was still first on the upgrade list. I did not question the flight attendant because by the time she came around the door was closed. I did not want to cause a delay in the flight. I also did not want to cause a commotion and be videoed by every passenger with a cell phone. **When the flight attendant came around with snacks I asked for one and told her I was Premier *K. She asked for my credit card to pay for my lunch. I told her again that I was Premier *K and she did not charge me. **About two thirds of the way into the flight the batteries died on my headphones. Another flight attendant came around with water. I asked him if he could give me headphones when he was done delivering water. At that point he looked at my seat number. He asked if I was Debra. When I said yes, he apologized for not coming to see me sooner. He asked if he could get me anything at all from the back. He gave me headphones and told me that he would look for a battery for my headphones. He came back a little while later and gave me a battery. I do appreciate that he found a battery for me. **My complaint is that we were not able to use my regional upgrade when apparently at one point before the flight took off an upgrade was made. Two people were moved from first class, yet I only saw one person get an upgrade. Did the second seat remain empty for the entire flight? If so, why? **Was a mistake made? It was surprising to me that the flight attendant knew my name and seat number. Was I supposed to be upgraded?**We are very loyal United passengers. We fly often and have been members of United Plus for many years. As a matter of fact we have three trips scheduled in the next month.
