The issue in GetHuman-dennisrt's own words
I was scheduled to depart Wichita Kansas at *:** p.m. on May **th for a trip to Tanzania. Due to severe weather, the plane departed Chicago a few hours late and was diverted to Salina Kansas because of lightning in the Wichita area. However, other planes were making it into Wichita. So the flight ultimately came in the next afternoon and departed shortly after *:** p.m.. This was a ** hour flight delay. I eventually arrived in Tanzania at *:** p.m. on the **th. This kept me from joining my tour at *:** a.m. on May **th in Tanzania. My tour is pushed back a day and in order to get my full tour I would need to change my flight home from May **nd to May **rd. I tried changing this at the United counter in Wichita but they told me to do it at the airport that I'm flying back home out of which's Kilimanjaro, Tanzania. When my flight got in around *:** p.m. on May **th, the office was closed for Turkish airlines. So upon arriving at the hotel I spoke with Turkish airlines and they told me to contact orbitz and when I contacted orbitz they told me that it was up to Turkish airlines to make the changes. It was referred to an orbitz supervisor who had me on hold for a lengthy period of time call talking with Turkish airlines. Ultimately, all he was provided was an email address at Turkish airlines to whatever entity within that company could perhaps provide satisfactory solution. Otherwise, I was told to make a change, the orbitz supervisor, who was getting this from Turkish airlines, said that it was going to cost me $**** to make the change. This is cost prohibitive. I am being penalize because of the delay that I had nothing to do with, and even though I would be willing to pay a very modest re booking fee that is totally absurd. That is over a $*** more than I paid for the entire round trip and we are just talking about the trip home. United is responsible for the initial delay and is part of the star alliance with Turkish airlines. It's obvious Turkish airlines does not want to interact and do anything on the customer's behalf. I am begging for your help for resolution to this issue so that I can get in the full tour which I have alredy paid for. Tour company already accommodated me by switching me to another tour that left a day later, however they are not going to cut the other customers' tour short to bring me back a day early. The original delayed flight was may **th, United ****, wichita to o'hare. My Itineraey number through orbitz is ************* and the ticket number that Turkish airline wants when talking with them is *************. Otherwise my Turkish confirmation code is TXQ*QZ and my United confirmation code is JCP*LC. Appreciate any help I can get with changing my flight back home which departs at *:** a.m. May **nd, I need that push back to any time on May **rd, Kilimanjaro airport to Wichita Kansas. I work hard to every once in a while enjoy something like a vacation and what should be something very enjoyable has turned into a nightmare because of this
