Hi,**I’ve been getting really frustrated with the fact that you guys allow for food to be dropped off to other locations when it’s nowhere near where the next order is being delivered to.**I ordered ** minutes ago from a restaurant that’s less than * mins drive away. The driver was riding a bicycle and picked up an order going in the opposite direction that delayed my meal by **-** minutes. If instead of taking my food, another driver would have picked it up in * or * minutes and it would have taken * minutes to get to me, without it getting cold on a bike in the meantime.**I’m on call for the hospital and needed to get food super quickly, and can’t leave home as I need access to the internet to answer queries from the staff if necessary. I also can’t be stuck at home waiting for food in case I get called to attend the hospital asap, so I got the quickest possible option from ubereats for that reason. This was ridiculous, I was stuck at home waiting for ** minutes and if I’d been called out, then I wouldnt have been able to eat at all. So now I have cold food, and spent the whole time freaking out that I’d have to leave before it got here. Because a guy on a bike accepted a call in the completely opposite direction * suburbs away.**How is this allowed to happen? Can I just request waiting for the next driver? I live in a capital city, it’s not like there wasn’t anyone else around to take it and sitting there watching the tracker get further and further away is excruciating. It’s literally the only unpredictable and unpleasant thing about using the service and honestly, makes zero sense in an area with plenty of drivers around. It completely ruins the experience for me as soon as I see something’s being “dropped off on the way” because it always without fail takes longer than the tracker and means I know I’m getting cold dinner.
GetHuman-kateyk did not yet indicate what UberEATS should do to make this right.
