Uber driver had difficulty using the app, he had to swipe to confirm that I had entered the car and the ride had begun, though after repeated attempts his swipe was not recognized and eventually we drove beyond the predetermined pickup area. He told me “the previous version of the app was better.” Ultimately he had to cancel the trip and and we were both charged by Uber for the cancellation (I contested the charge and it was credited to me). The driver was very nice and drove me home anyway. He had given over *,*** rides so I cannot fault the driver. If the app is difficult for drivers to use it should be amended, it is not safe for drivers to spend any more time than necessary trying to make the app work. Next time I’m using Lyft.
