Hi my names Justin Whitman I’ve been driving for Uber for nearly one year. I’ve gotten my rating up to a *.** and on my drive hard weeks can do up to *** rides and lately do over ***. I’ve been pretty loyal to Uber and was very happy with Uber until last night. We’ll talk about that in a bit. *** months ago my fianc* died leaving me with two little girls to raise. A four year old and ** month old that depend on me. When my fianc* died our accounts and cards have been frozen and my lawyers are working on getting me her life insurance. I have nothing right now. I was a stay at home dad that worked part time all of our accounts are locked cards turned off. For some reason the past month or so when I do instant cash out with Uber even when I click on and tell uber to send money to my Uber debit card it still try’s to go to my old card which has been shut off. I’ve tried to delete it I was told to go into my account vault to delete it nothing worked. Last night while I was out driving I got low on gas and pulled into a gas station and tried doing a instant cash out. It once again tried going to my old debit card and I was locked out of instant cash out do to fraud detection. I went into my account and edited my old card with my Uber debit card numbers and tried cashing out again nothing would work. Now after my fianc* passed I could not afford our house and had to move in with my cousin almost two hours away. It was late at night I had no other way to receive money or get money so I called customer support. I explained my situation and after ten minutes I was told there was nothing that could be done there was s ** hour hold on my instant cash out. I asked to speak with a supervisor after being on hold for ** minutes or so I finally go a supervisor his name was Neil. I explained to Neil that I had no money that there was no fraud that I was two hours from home with no money and had two little girls at home I had to get to to cook breakfast in the mourning. It was now passed midnight. Neil kept reading the same thing over and over. I explained to Neil I needed ** dollars from a million dollar company that I’ve personally have made thousands for and not to mention they owe me money and the app locked me out my malfunctioning nothing I did wrong. Neil again read off his paper which was a nice way of saying **** off we won’t help you. I then had to sit outside this gas station in Boston in freezing weather and bum for change to get gas after ** minutes I got * dollars and pumped a couple gallons. Still not enough to get home. So now I drove two lyft rides tried cashing out with them but they wouldn’t send money to my Uber card. Now I’m real screwed so I drove to within ** miles of home unplugged my battery and called triple A for a tow. They towed me home I didn’t make it home till *** am. My girls wake up at ***am. I’m still not in the clear. Now I can’t drive don’t have enough food for ** hours so I called my mom and begged for a few dollars to feed my daughters. She sends it to PayPal I goto cash out and Uber has contacted PayPal and my paypal has been locked due to fraudulent activity on my Uber debit card. This situation stopped me from finishing my night I won’t be able to drive Thursday or Friday night won’t hit my bonus. That’s gonna be like a thousand dollar loss to me. I’m irate. I don’t know what if anything this email will do but I will never drive for Uber again. My next step I’m pretty sure I’m gonna go to local papers get my story heard. Do everything I can to get every single person in Boston to take lyft trips and stop useing Uber. I’m so pissed Uber cares nothing about me or there employees. All I needed was ** dollars to get home to my daughters. Not only is Uber hurting me but there affecting my daughters. I’m so upset hurt and just plain disappointed. I did such s good job for Uber and they couldn’t help me the one time I needed.
