I had a safety issue with my driver Sylvanus **AAL****. I immediately messaged the driver to explain that I did not feel safe walking to the pickup location because it was dark and unsafe. He never messaged me back, and when he called he was not communicating clearly, so had to message again that I did not feel safe where I was walking to and asked if we can meet on the street where I felt safest (there was light and I knew where I could run to safety if need be). If he needed to cancel that was fine* I wanted to make sure I was with a driver that cared about my safety. I don't mind the walk, have nothing wrong with Uber Express. I can't afford transportation because I am a self-sufficient college student. That is why I messaged the driver ahead of time. When Sylvanus finally arrived he startes to yell at me about how I had hime waiting with the passenger, not kettibg me get a word in about how I communiacted my safety concerns. He said my safety concerns did not matter because he was not paid extra to do that. I felt unsafe in the car, did not feel comfortable with his behavior towards me, so left the car and told him he could cancel. It is ridiculous that this even happened. I should feel safe with my driver, not get a lecture about how I should walk to the location because its convenient to him. It is one thing if a customer is being lazy...it's another when we are talking about safety!
