I use Uber pretty much every single day and was dismayed to have a major issue with my Uber service today. I was forced to request service twice today. The second time went fine but I should not have needed to request a second driver. **Here is the story in connection with the first ride. For whatever crazy reason, the system showed me as being at the WRONG address - **th & Cottage Grove. I live at, and was requesting the service from, *** East **nd Street. **When I saw the wrong pick-up address I freaked and first tried calling the driver on his phone not once, but twice. He didn't pick up either time, which I consider another problem. I then resorted to texting him. He directed me to edit the address. I did not know how at first but finally figured it out. But the system would not accept the change - it kept saying I was "outside the range" for where the driver had been sent. But that was precisely why I needed to change it since he had been sent to the wrong location!! And again, how does that happen in the first place with a GPS system?!? ***To make matters worse, I told him where I was and he did in fact try to come to my actual location but he went to **nd PLACE instead of STREET, which I concede is not an uncommon error. When I tried to get him to come one block north to **nd Street, he did but apparently couldn't figure out where the building was, although why is that so challenging!). He drove right by my building - I was standing out front with my doorman in the driveway. As he sped away he cancelled the ride. I implore you to read the email exchange between us since on top of everything else I experienced, he was quite rude (and I wouldn't have wanted to ride with someone with that attitude anyway).* *I would appreciate an explanation for the system's failure to accurately read my location and an acknowledgement that the conduct of the first driver was "outside the range" of what Uber considers appropriate.
