Hello, I have been working as a part-time driver for Uber for over three months now. I enjoy the flexibility and convenience this job offers. While I have a high rating and provide excellent service, I have some concerns I would like to address. I believe that part-time drivers should receive more incentives, such as a bonus for trips into the city. Reaching areas with high demand should be compensated, and time spent driving to pick up passengers should be factored into our pay. I strive to make Uber a reliable on-demand service, but I feel that more support for drivers like me is necessary. I typically earn between $12-$20 per hour after deducting expenses, which I find acceptable but believe could be improved. I am committed to providing quality service, but fair compensation is essential for me to continue. Thank you for considering my feedback and valuing your employees.

I encountered two issues with my recent Uber experience. Firstly, I was charged a $5.00 cancellation fee after an incident where I was left waiting at the corner of Sheltondale and Vanowen for a ride that never arrived. This was a disappointing no-show on Nicole's part. Secondly, I had eye surgery scheduled at 10:00, and after some confusion with the pickup location, I had to walk to Welby and Cleomore, delaying my journey to Encino. Despite being quoted approximately $6.32 for a carpool Uber, my final bill showed a charge of $19.38, which was unexpected. The driver, Kobra, encountered GPS issues with her phone, leading to a stressful and frustrating ride. I appreciate Kobra's understanding during this challenging trip. Given the circumstances and unexpected charges, I believe a resolution is needed before I can consider paying. Thank you for addressing these concerns promptly, Uber team. - Shirley R.

I requested an Uber from a pinned location in downtown Chicago, but the driver, Rachel, called saying she was there when she was not. Despite giving her clear directions and being at the spot she directed us to, she canceled the ride. This experience with Rachel was frustrating and unhelpful. Our subsequent driver was efficient and a pleasure to ride with. Rachel's actions were unacceptable, and being charged $5 for her alleged wait time is unjustified. I am seeking a refund for this. Thank you.

Upon our arrival at LAX on Thursday, July 12, we booked an Uber ride to the Orlando Hotel. The driver who picked us up had an old car with a taped driver side window. During the ride, the car made a loud grinding sound, and the driver mentioned the urgent need for brake repairs. He dropped us off on a corner, insisting the hotel was nearby despite it not being there. We had to request a second Uber, and this new driver drove us to the correct location. The first ride cost us $32.60, while the second ride was $19.21. We appreciate the second driver's assistance and positive attitude after our unsettling experience with the first driver. We request a refund for the first ride and suggest an inspection of the initial driver's vehicle for safety reasons. Thank you for your attention to this matter. - Fern B.

I'm seeking assistance with my background check concern. I'm disappointed about being turned down due to a previous marijuana distribution charge. The dates provided by Checkr are inaccurate, and crucial information about the case seems to be missing. Considering the increasing legalization of marijuana in various states, including California where the company is based, I question why a past sale of a small amount, which would have been a misdemeanor anyway, is a reason for denial. I believe a charge involving more dangerous substances like cocaine or heroin would be more justifiable. The correct date for the distribution incident was April 3, [redacted], while the violation mentioned on October 29, [redacted], related to a misdemeanor from July [redacted] that isn’t even detailed in the report.

The pick-up location listed by Denise, ***** *** *th St SW, Washington, DC, did not match my actual location, *** Independence Ave SW, Washington, DC. Denise did not contact me about the discrepancy. I am asking Uber to refund the $*.** cancellation fee due to the incorrect pick-up location. I tried to report this issue on help.uber.com without success as the canceled ride did not show up. I hope Uber resolves this fairly.

My name is Susan Chatary. I was only supposed to be charged $2.89 for my trip to the credit union, but I got charged $8.08. The trip service ripped me off. When I took Uber home, the driver was rude and I did not feel comfortable in the car. He was also rude to another passenger, mumbling under his breath. I would like a refund for that trip. I provided information earlier, but I am getting a runaround. I deserve my $5 back on my card. My cell number is [redacted]. I want my $5 refund back on my card from the trip to the credit union, which I was overcharged for. Thank you.

Is there an appeals process in Omaha for successful Uber drivers falsely accused of impaired driving? I received an email from Uber stating permanent deactivation without any prior communication, leaving me shocked. I am a 57-year-old with a clean record, never being arrested or accused of drug or alcohol use, especially given my recent heart attack. During my last shift, I had successfully completed over 13 rides, with positive feedback from both truck drivers and a teacher. The incident occurred during my final ride, navigating heavy traffic on the interstate, which was unfamiliar to me. I am frustrated that Uber did not allow me to defend myself against the accusations. Why didn't the accuser involve the police if they suspected impairment? I believe Uber should have a clear policy in place for handling such incidents, especially considering the late-night nature of some pickups. I'm seeking advice on how to appeal my deactivation and provide evidence from my doctor regarding my medical history, making it implausible for me to be under the influence. Sincerely, Frank H.

Last night, I preordered an Uber at Cadillac Palace in Chicago to go to the LaSalle Metra train station. The driver didn't come to the theater but called, asking me to walk a block to find him. I requested he come closer for safety as I preordered for his convenience at the theater. I needed to catch a train. He started yelling which scared me. I canceled the ride due to feeling unsafe. I reported the incident. I was charged $13.60 plus $1.00 which I dispute. The driver didn't arrive, endangered me, and acted aggressively causing me to cancel. Safety should be a priority with Uber. I seek a credit and have disputed the charge with American Express. Kindly assist.

I took an Uber from Washington Dulles Airport on 7/21/18 at 12:34. I followed the instructions to wait at arrival Door 4 but didn't see the driver or the Vehicle Tag No. I received a confusing phone call from [redacted], couldn't reach them when I called back, and then got hit with a cancellation charge. To support my case, I had a traffic officer named William Mattei, [redacted], witness the situation. The cancellation receipt showed the wrong pick up point as [redacted] Autopilot Dr., not Arrival Door 4. I strongly believe this charge should be disputed. The whole experience has made me question using Uber again, and if this isn't resolved, I'll have to involve my credit card company.

My wife and friend attended a show in Coral Springs, FL. After the show, they used Uber with multiple stops. When stopping to drop off the friend, my wife stepped out to walk her to the door and was left stranded by the driver who claimed to have another pick up. This incident occurred in Coral Springs, FL at approximately 10:20PM. I am requesting contact from Uber customer service to ensure the safety of all passengers, especially women. I also wish to report and provide details about this driver. Please contact me promptly at [redacted]

During my Uber ride on July 16, [redacted] from [redacted] Pembroke Road, Hollywood, Florida to my house, heavy rain began to fall. The driver was using his cellphone very close to his face for directions, neglecting the road. Despite my requests to focus on driving, he continued holding the phone the entire time. The situation escalated when we hit a large amount of water causing the car to hydroplane. I reiterated my concerns about his distraction with the cellphone, but he only apologized. This was a dangerous experience that made me question his suitability as an Uber driver.

I have recently learned from my teenager that an incorrect charge of $[redacted] was added two months after a ride, without clear reasoning for the high fee. Transaction Date: [redacted]-06-25T04:00:00Z Transaction Amount: $[redacted].19 Additional Information: I am uncertain why I am being charged an additional $[redacted].19 for two locations that are only a five-minute drive apart. I have a couple of concerns: 1. Why wasn't I notified immediately after the driver became aware of the situation in April? 2. Why did it take two months for the fee to appear on the bill? The delay in charging suggests to me that there was a mistake made by the driver and the fee was added to my son's account in June, trying to pass it off as a cleaning charge. To remedy this, I am requesting an immediate refund to my son's account for the disputed amount. I find it hard to believe that two months were needed for the driver to address this alleged mess.

Having recently moved to Tucson, AZ from Minneapolis, MN in June [redacted], I transitioned my Uber driving to Arizona. Despite my excellent driving history and a high driver rating of 4.97, an issue arose during my background check indicating a missing license which could hinder my selection. After submitting all required documents, I encountered delays and lack of clarity when attempting to resolve the license discrepancy with the Green Light Hub representative. Unfortunately, my account is currently under review, preventing me from working. With all necessary Arizona documentation in place - vehicle insurance, driver's license, vehicle registration, and a passed vehicle inspection - I eagerly await a resolution to this six-week process hindering my ability to drive in Tucson. Please expedite the transfer of my credentials so I can resume my Uber services promptly.

Hello, I'm Isa Holloway. I received a notification from Chase about my card ending in [redacted] for a $3.00 charge at UBER *TRIP 3NNFG on 07/23/[redacted], which I did not make. This happened before on 7/18/[redacted] for $18.21, $5.00, and $2.00 at UBER. Despite turning off my card on 7/16/18, the charges persist. It seems my card may be linked to the UBER account of Mr. Daulton Williams in Savannah without his knowledge. I am not liable for these charges and request they cease. I await your prompt response. Thank you.

My name is Jagjit Sukhija, you can reach me at jksukhija@ gmail.com. I have been using Uber frequently and value the service. Today, I experienced a disappointing ride with Driver Vijay. I provided the pick-up location as [redacted] Hillside Avenue Narco and the drop-off as [redacted] Elk Horn Avenue Chino Hills at 1:15 PM on 07.23.[redacted]. Initially, the arrival time fluctuated from 6 to 11 minutes. Despite waiting in the sun for 40 minutes, Driver Vijay did not respond to calls or messages. Eventually, he canceled, and we were picked up by another driver. This prolonged wait in the hot sun was unacceptable. I am concerned whether Uber has a process to address drivers like Vijay and ensure customer satisfaction. I believe we should be compensated for this inconvenience. I urge Uber to review this incident and take appropriate action against Vijay. I seek reassurance that Uber will address this complaint and update me on the actions taken.

Hello, my name is Jacquelyn Perkins, and I took an Uber ride with driver Isaac on Sunday, July 22, [redacted], at 4:28 am in a Kia Sedona with the license plate HNV67303. I was dropped off at Ledbetter Train Station, and unfortunately, I left my Dallas Medical Center Jacket in the car. Despite trying three times to contact the driver to retrieve my jacket, I have not had any success in reaching him. He has not responded to my text messages either. The jacket is very important to me as I received it for being named Employee of the Month in April after 18 years of service. I would appreciate any help in getting it back. Please contact me via email or phone regarding this matter. Thank you, Jacquelyn.

Hello, my name is Vardan Tonoyan, and I am a rider who has been using Uber for a long time. Recently, my friends and I had a frustrating experience when we were trying to travel from Concord to Pittsburg using the Express Pool service. We waited for almost 25 minutes, but the Uber app kept showing delays. Our driver, Sandeep, was difficult to reach, and despite waiting for quite a while, we ultimately had to request another Uber. I'm concerned about being charged for cancellations or when drivers don't show up, especially when I've made an effort to be ready for the ride. This has happened to me a few times, and I feel like it's unfair to be charged in such situations. I would appreciate a refund for this particular incident.

I had an Uber Pool ride scheduled for Wednesday, July 25 at 5:51 PM. Unfortunately, the driver, Mark in a Ford Fusion with the license plate 9DLM50, canceled the ride before picking me up. This caused me to be charged the original fare of $11.87 and a cancellation fee of $39.81. Although my receipt was altered, showing a charge of $5 instead of $11.87, the initial fare amount is still missing. While I managed to have the cancellation fee refunded through Uber Help, it was only added as credit to my Uber account instead of being refunded to my bank account. Another driver who picked me up informed me that the Uber GPS did not lead them to my location, which was not my fault. I am requesting a full reimbursement for the first Uber ride, totaling $56.87, to be refunded to my bank account.
