I am one of the individuals that was recently hit by Hurricane Michael in Panama City, FL. A lot of home damage, but my insurance company recently cut my check. I am nowhere near a USAA branch, and the amount was too big to deposited through USAA app. I called customer service and was told to send the check certified with acct* written on the back. I did monday, the **th of November. It was signed Wednesday the **th. Here it is Friday the **th and still not deposited. I have a meeting with my roofer (lost roof in storm), and they will not even put me on a waiting list until I put down half for deposit. I called USAA today to inquire. I was told that because there was no deposit slip, it will be * more business days until the money will be available. I explained my dilemma to the customer service rep and was basically told that it was my fault (not as harsh). The customer service rep I talked to originally told me “get it here by Wednesday, and you’ll have it time for your meeting Friday”. Yes, I’m upset.
