Hello,*This letter is a request for you to assist me in asking US Bank to not make me take warm clothing and shoes I sent to a disabled veteran back. I am at fault for an error, but it is an obvious one and the underlying sentiment I believe could persuade you to not charge me over ** overdraft fees. First I want you to know I am ** and have been with US Bank for ** years. Outside of an *$ problem on Christmas Eve this year and this January big problem I have never gone overdraft on my account. I have been a bit misled and yet responsible for the issue I am requesting you address. It is my understanding you will never see this email, despite the Mission of US Bank to be customer oriented, even humanistic in its banking ideals. So here I go, writing to no one, about to receive a prewritten response. That said, I add in my ** years I have asked nothing from US Bank. *In December I decided to send warm clothes and things to a disabled ** year old black soldier in Massachusetts. I had met him at a senior living apt complex in California. He moved to Massachusetts to a Vet Program. I moved to Vancouver, WA. He had been very kind. I decided to send him clothes and coat and shoes for the cold. I was not seeking any thanks or anything other than feeling it was right. I purchased items through an online shopping site where you buy things from individuals who send their item to the buyer and when the person accepts it as what they purchased that individual is paid. The way that Poshmark knows it was received is when the buyer ACCEPTS the purchase. Sorry for explanation. *I started buying items and some friends even gave me a few bucks to chip in. When sellers knew what I was doing they lowered their prices for good cause. It was all around a positive thing UNTIL I found ** or so overdraft fees. $***.** * Yikes. Well I had pushed ACCEPT for a bunch of items all at once a couple of times. It overdrew my account and piled on. My teachers retirement check didn’t go in til the *st. This was the **th. A couple safety things I thought I had were not quite what I thought. One in particular was the overdraft coverage I got. I got it thinking my US Bank Credit Card covered anything that ever went over. Nope I had coverage not protection. I don’t understand why anyone would choose such a thing. The bank pays overdrafts and charges you **$ every time. Why would you get that? If you don’t have fees bank won’t cover. This wouldn’t have happened. If it went to my card it wouldn’t have happened. And my paypal account was not going on my credit but directly out of my checking. All my fault! *I have spoken to several people who have seen the string of expensive overdrafts whose hands are tied. Only one overdraft can be removed. Even the bank manager said so. I can only get fees reversed by returning the items and getting refunds. Then rebuying them. This is not a pretty picture. Me having to make vet remove his warm jacket and send it back. I would pay mailing. I would then try to get a refund and US Bank would remove an overdraft fee. I am a retired teacher. I have known US Bank to honor people who contribute to our communities. I can’t think of people who do more. *So what am I asking. This is all my fault. It’s bank policy to charge fees. I am asking you to step outside of the rigid rule and see that the end could justify another set of reasons for making a decision to reverse the fees. The bank loses no money, yet participates in a fine deed. If in your conscience you can’t do this, then the rigidity of this institution appears to me to lack that human aspect it credits itself with. I can just see me taking a disabled veteran’s warm jacket to get US Bank to return a fee. It kinda corners me and sometimes I broke the rule for getting CEOs to read a letter* it’s too long. Please take my situation seriously. Possibly think outside of the box and make one good deed something you can share in. Reverse my fees. Thank you. Whomever is supposed to send a standard response, please tell me why US Bank is unable to do this.
