I paid for my UPS shipment online with my Visa. When my CC statement came it shows a charge that is $** HIGHER and * days LATER than the original amt. When I called Cust Svc they told me that the add'l amt was for value-based insurance which was tacked on at the later date when their billing occured. However we were NEVER informed of this even tho we provided our address, phone*, e-mail, etc. I didn't find out abt this higher charge until I got my CC statement, almost a month LATER.*They shld have mention the insurance charge up front. Is this something new? Or is it deceptive?
No one likes surprises when they open their CC statement.
They should have listed the insurance charge up front or waive (refund) it. The rep told me it's $*.** per $*** so it's no big mystery for UPS to figure out. Or at least notified me on the date it was incurred. Instead of just charging it to my Visa.
I've been a "light" UPS customer for * to * years. I use them because they were recommended by my customers. I've never experienced this problem before.
