Hello,**I just rented a UHAUL from The Country Store and Gardens on Vashon, WA (*******) w* an account number of ********. I was billed an extra $***.** because the truck was considered “missing” x* days since I didn’t use the UHAUL app to check the vehicle out. This was NOT explained to me when I rented the vehicle, otherwise, I would have easily completed this task. Nor was it explained to me that I needed to sweep the vehicle out which I was also charged for ($**). I’ve rented UHAUL’s in the past and have never had an issue like this before. **I told the UHAUL customer service staff that the gentleman that rented me the truck (at the country store) was new and never mentioned using an app to check my vehicle out when I dropped it off. It never occurred to me that I would need to complete it online. There weren’t any obvious signs about how to leave my truck behind. I did think it was odd to just leave the truck there and drop the key off but I figured everything was done by scanning the vehicle, not via an app. **If this charge does not get reversed I will certainly give UHAUL zero stars and never recommend using this company again. Clearly, this was a mistake, and not mine. The truck never left the parking lot of the Federal Way facility since I dropped it off on *******, nor was it stolen or damaged. If you want to expand your business by allowing rentals to happen in regular stores (such as “The Country Store”) then you should probably ensure that there is a specialized UHAUL staff person there at all times, so that they can relay the important details that I obviously did not get. I hope that you can understand this situation and reverse the fee considering this was an issue on your end, not mine. **Best,*Jennifer Olley********-****
