Hi, it has come to my attention that one of Twitter’s users, rxdazn, has published content that belongs to me without my permission. This content has since been shared thousands of times and based on this content an article has been published in an online newspaper, and used in a way that makes it possible for people to identify me and come to my house to harass me. Here’s one of the messages I’ve received as a result (all mistakes originally in the source:* ‘Omg, I read your advertisement on spareroom you are just the most insane, fucked up and psychopath person I have ever seen. How do you even manage to look for a flatmate after a post like that, I would just call somebody’s to come to your place, pick you up and looked you in a psychiatric hospital and free that house by your craziness. Anyway good luck with that!’*The content was shared by me with what I understand is a friend of the Twitter user in question, via the website run by Spareroom, which links landlords with flatmates. Spareroom’s representative has informed me that the company doesn’t own the rights to any information posted on their website, therefore, this information isn’t in the public domain and I retain all rights to my content. *I’d like the sensitive content, that is guidelines for prospective flatmates that rxdazn posted on Nov **, ****, to be removed on the grounds that the user has violated copyright law as well as Article * of the European Convention on Human Rights. The former guarantees me protection as the author of the guidelines, and the latter protects my personal information and correspondence from being unjustifiably released to the public. *I am not under police investigation of any kind, and never have been, neither have I broken any laws, and there is no reason why this content can be legally published and circulated without my permission. *The comments that my content has generated on Twitter are harassing and defamatory in nature. Some people have posted photos of my flat and its location, as well as my ad on Spareroom that contains information that can easily identify me to those who will read it. (I’ve since removed the ad but I can’t remove the photos that the people who had access to the ad are posting.) For fear of my safety, I’ve had to put my search for a flatmate on hold because someone might recognize me from me new ad and arrange a fake viewing only to get my address.*The response to my content has little to do with the actual content. There’s a lot of hatred-filled vomit and that’s why I’m worried of what may happen if you don’t block the content. As I’ve said, thousands of people have shared it, but none of them has any right whatsoever to use it. They’re all breaking several laws but I can’t physically contact all of them and threaten with legal action. *If there is a way to block my content on ALL the Twitter accounts that have shared it, that would be amazing. It would also be great if Twitter informed those users that they CAN be prosecuted for sharing my content and harassing me - again, on the grounds of the laws that I mentioned above.*I hope for a quick response from Twitter before more damage is done.*Regards,*Kate Luna
