The issue in GetHuman-spytfyre's own words
I was trying to reward my son for all of his hard work and determination. ... Bought a PS* headset for my son as a gift, March **, ****. Gave him the gift on Friday, August *, **** (the gift was for completing some classes that he had signed up for, but couldn't have the gift until finished.) So, he plugged the headset in, but after about a half an hour of working, one side of the headset no longer worked. Or, should I say, the two sides work, but not at the same time. If he twists the cord, he has sound in one side of the headset or the other, but not both at the same time. I only ask for a replacement product, or repair of this one. I bought the headset at Walmart, even getting their warranty (through Squaretrade), which they aren't honoring, saying they believe the product was damaged before purchase and they do not cover that particular defect.
Frustrating, because ...this is the *rd time in about a year, that I have purchased warranties for electronic items that neither the companies nor the retailers will honor. This made*makes me lose not only the price if the item, but also the price of the warranty itself. (Kinda adds insult to injury!) The manufacturer says the retailer should give resolution..but the retailer thinks the manufacturer should be the one to offer resolution. Not sure which way to turn at this point, I'm just getting irritated that I'M the one that continues to lose out in the end.
To make I right, I would need a replacement item or repair of the defective one.
Im a good customer because I am no asking for anything free or more than a replacement or repair of the item. I do not complain about little things, and once I find a company that doesn't try to "get over" on their customers, I stay with that company. I am a loyal and easy customer to deal with.
I have already had to make MULTIPLE phone calls and emails to the retailer (Walmart) that I got it from, and also their warranty company (Squaretrade)...none of which gave me any kind of resolution to my problem. No sure why I paid for a warranty at all, considering this is the *rd time I've had warranty issues with Walmart*Squaretrade.
