I had booked a connecting flight (with Turkish Airlines) from Sarajevo to Dublin with the layover being in Istanbul. The flight from Sarajevo was scheduled to land at **:** in Istanbul and the flight from istanbul to Dublin was scheduled to leave at **:**. Considering how large the airport is and the fact that transfer passengers are still required to go through security, this was an impossible time frame. The plane landed in Istanbul late and spent half an hour driving to its parking spot from where it landed on the runway. Of course, I missed my second flight to Dublin, as well as * other passengers who were on the same connecting flight. I was booked onto the next available flight to Dublin which was the next morning at *:**. I was told I would be put in a hotel overnight that the airline would pay for. However, when I reached the hotel desk, I was required to pay €*** for transport to and from the hotel as the hotel is situated ** minutes away from the airport. I had assumed that the airline would cover any hotel costs. Moreover, when I checked my bank statements, I was actually charged €***. I don't understand why I was lied to about how much money I had to pay. I want my money back for this incident and am hoping you can advise me on how to go about getting it.
