I am looking for guidance on how to accurately report my cryptocurrency capital gains on Form [redacted]. I have numerous transactions to include and plan to provide a summary with the form attached. I selected "Everything Else" for the type of investment and described it as "Cryptocurrency Capital Gains Summary - See Attached Form [redacted]." I listed my total Capital Gains under "Net Proceeds" and used 12/31/18 as the "Date of Sale" to encompass all of [redacted]. In the "How Acquired" section, I chose "Purchase," entered $0 for Cost Basis, and selected "Various" for the "Date of Purchase." I am seeking clarification on whether this approach is suitable for my circumstances.

I had my Federal and State Tax returns rejected for the second time due to a specific error code IND-[redacted]-01. The message indicates that each dependent listed for the Child Tax Credit must be under the age of 17. However, my situation is different as my daughter turned 17 on 11/21/18, and my older sons, who are over 25, no longer live with me. I am currently traveling and tried to address this using my TurboTax DVD, but when I opened the program on my laptop, it did not recognize my [redacted] return in PDF format, prompting me to start a new return.

A few years ago, I had someone else prepare my taxes. Recently, I discovered an account with Intuit, possibly created by my ex-husband for fraudulent purposes. The username assigned is "Wynn," which I wouldn't have chosen. The security questions were odd, and although I managed to reset the password, I couldn't proceed further. Now, I'm locked out and wish to close this account to start fresh. At 67, I find dealing with technology daunting and need assistance urgently, as today is the filing deadline. My tax situation is straightforward, with a total taxable income of $12,[redacted] from Social Security and a pension as head of the household.

I have finished filling out my [redacted] and Virginia State Return. In [redacted], I sold a rental property and had to complete a Form [redacted] due to a capital loss of $69,[redacted]. The house was sold for much less than what I had invested in it, causing this loss. On TurboTax, I noticed in red that my cost or other basis plus expenses of sale was $[redacted],[redacted], which is higher than the gross sale price of $[redacted],[redacted] on Line 21. Despite TurboTax flagging this as an error and preventing me from e-filing at the end of the process, my accountant reassured me that the Form [redacted] was filled out correctly and abiding by the law, especially considering the housing market crash in [redacted] and [redacted]. I urgently need to know if I cannot e-file as today is the deadline. - S.S.

I used TurboTax to file my taxes. When asked about my dependent from the previous year, I selected "will not file" and indicated that someone else would claim him as a dependent. My tax refund has already been processed, but it seems that my son was still claimed as a dependent. I received the earned income credit (EIC) even though I chose not to claim him. What could have caused this discrepancy? How can I avoid this situation in the future?

Regarding Order number: TTWC[redacted]9 I recently completed my daughter's taxes using your online service, and I encountered an issue with unexpected charges. Initially, the website indicated the service was free, but during the process, additional charges were added without my consent. Despite declining upgrades, I was required to input my debit card information to proceed, and a charge of $[redacted].70 was applied for a basic tax return. Given this misleading experience, I did not complete or file the return and I am requesting a full refund. I have been a loyal Turbo Tax customer for nearly 10 years, primarily using the software discs without issue. However, this incident has left me dissatisfied, and I have since filed my daughter's taxes with H&R Block for a significantly lower fee of $29. I e-filed my 2[redacted] using TurboTax, and the IRS accepted it. However, I am unable to access a copy of my tax return from TurboTax to view or print it. Shouldn't I have the right to have a copy of my filed tax return? My wife, who signed it, should also have the right to see what she signed off on. If I switch to a different tax software, will I face the same issue? Is this even legal? I want to be able to view and print the tax return I purchased and filed today, or understand my rights according to the IRS or federal tax court. This situation seems to either violate the law or infringe upon mine and my spouse's legal rights. If it's against the law, enforcement is necessary. If it's legal, I may need to contact my congressional representatives to advocate for a change in legislation.

Hello TT community, As the tax deadline nears, I wanted to share my experience with Turbo Tax. I've been a loyal Turbo Tax user for a while and encountered an issue this tax season. I purchased the [redacted] Deluxe version with the intention of filing both Federal and Ohio state taxes using E-File. Although the Deluxe version covered the Federal E-File, I had to separately purchase a state E-File, which I did on April 6, [redacted], through order number TTDCRT[redacted]9 for $26.74 using my Visa. Unfortunately, I faced a setback when my [redacted] Federal E-File was rejected due to discrepancies in the [redacted] AGI and PIN numbers. Regrettably, I lost access to my [redacted] tax information stored on a computer that went missing while I was recovering from heart surgery last year. This led me to estimate the [redacted] data for my Federal E-file, resulting in rejection. To meet the tax deadline, I had to mail my returns. In this process, I never utilized the Ohio E-file software I purchased, causing me to lose the $26.74 paid for it. I'm reaching out to Turbo Tax for a resolution, either by refunding the $26.74 for the unused State E-File or transferring the credit to my future tax returns. I unintentionally created two TurboTax accounts. I go by Lauren Halliburton and have two email addresses: [redacted] is my main one and [redacted] is for business purposes. I have noticed some mail addressed to Loretta Halliburton in my main email, which is strange. I need help determining which account to use for my [redacted] taxes. I completed my taxes using Turbotax on Monday for Federal and State, choosing direct deposit for refunds and audit insurance. Unfortunately, the work wasn't saved on my computer. If I need to start over, I have a few questions: 1. Will the free state tax form option still be available if I have to restart since the form wasn't saved? 2. If not, would uninstalling and reinstalling Turbotax make the program start over from scratch, including the free state tax option? 3. Can I save the files and submit them before choosing direct deposit for refunds? 4. Is it possible to save a file at any time and resume from that point later when logging back into Turbotax? I used your app to file our taxes and this year we ended up needing the paid version. The app mentioned that the fee would come out of our tax refund. Our taxes were indeed offset, but the situation made me think that you received your payment first as it didn't prompt me to make a payment. Now, a few weeks later without any prior notice, $85 was withdrawn from our bank account. There was no communication from your end before the money was taken. We didn't receive any messages indicating that the payment was due and that it would be deducted directly from our account. This unexpected deduction has left our account overdrawn by $82 and some change, which is unacceptable to us. If there was still outstanding payment, we would have appreciated being informed so we could have settled it ourselves. The way this was handled was not right, and it has caused us financial inconvenience.

I used your app for our taxes this year and upgraded to the paid version. The app mentioned the fee would be taken from our tax return. However, the payment was deducted from our bank account without any prior warning. We were surprised to see the charge of $85. There was no communication about the failed payment before you took it from our account. Our bank account is now in the negative due to this unexpected deduction. It would have been appreciated if there was some form of contact to inform us of the outstanding payment. We would have gladly settled the amount if informed. Please consider improving your communication regarding payments in the future.

After completing my tax details on TurboTax Deluxe, I reached out to customer service to preview my income tax filing. I was instructed to choose 'file through mail' and print out the form after payment. I was assured I could return to efile and make revisions to my tax filing post-printout. However, any changes I made were considered amendments, requiring a 1040X form instead of a regular [redacted]. Despite contacting TurboTax customer service twice on 4/15/[redacted], I faced long wait times after the issue was escalated. I was deprived of the efile option, forcing me to seek an alternative filing method on the tax deadline. This was highly inconvenient and stressful, particularly on the final day for filing taxes. TurboTax has been incredibly frustrating for me. I have spent over a week on the phone and computer trying to resolve issues with multiple accounts. Due to losing access to my previous email, I am struggling to sign in and retrieve last year's AGI for my current taxes. Being housebound from an accident, I cannot visit a notary or renew my license for the self-help portal. Despite providing all the necessary information, I am still unable to receive assistance. My family and I have used TurboTax for years, but due to the extremely poor customer service, we are now considering switching to a different tax service provider.

I had an extremely simple tax return with no W-2s. However, I was required to purchase the Deluxe package for $59.99. Additionally, I was charged for the Max benefits, which I did not want and couldn't remove. There were also charges for filing federal and state taxes, along with a $40 direct deposit fee. This made my basic return cost a total of $[redacted]. I am shocked by this high cost, especially considering that my girlfriend used TurboTax for her more complex return, which only cost her $79.98. I feel this pricing is unreasonable, particularly because I am on disability and have a limited income. I did not need the Max benefit, and I believe the $59.99 package was excessive. While I understand the direct deposit charge, paying $[redacted] for my simple return is unacceptable. This experience has left me very dissatisfied, and I will not be using TurboTax again.

Yesterday, I began preparing my taxes for free using TurboTax, as I had used it last year successfully. However, this year, after entering all my information, I was surprised to see that I owed $4 for federal and $[redacted] for state taxes. Additionally, I faced difficulties importing data from my Robinhood investment account, being under the impression that I needed to upgrade to the Premier version to do so, which cost more than expected. Despite expecting a discount for using Robinhood, it was not applied. Feeling rushed, I almost paid the amount owed for state taxes but decided against it to avoid further financial strain. Today, after estimating my taxes on TaxAct.com, it appears I should be receiving a refund, which aligns better with my expectations. I hope to receive a refund for the TurboTax Premier and TurboTax State: Wisconsin purchases and will consider alternative filing options. Thank you for addressing this matter.

I require assistance correcting an error on my tax return. Accidentally, I inflated the amount entered in the scholarship section, resulting in a $[redacted] charge on my federal taxes. Additionally, I am expecting a $[redacted] charge for State taxes tomorrow. Instead of receiving an approximate $[redacted] refund, my overdrawn bank account indicates otherwise. I am attempting to amend the return, however, the federal return shows $[redacted], while the State return displays $0. How can I rectify this issue? Even if I proceed with the amendment, I will still incur losses instead of receiving my initial refund.

I submitted our tax information for [redacted] in March using the Elite version online and paid with American Express, with the refund going to Sovereign. Neither American Express nor my bank has records of this transaction. I have called multiple times and provided my husband's social security number and our zip code, but the automated system does not recognize them. I am very frustrated and would appreciate speaking to a real person who can assist me with this issue. I would prefer a phone call because the email verification code expires too quickly. I am in need of help! I accidentally submitted two Form 4868s for two individuals named Joseph, one with SSN [redacted]-70-[redacted] and the other with [redacted]-04-[redacted]. There are two possible email addresses associated with these filings: [redacted] and [redacted] One username linked with the email [redacted] is hamper68, which I may have used for filing. I received an email confirmation from TurboTax about the approval of a [redacted] Federal Personal Extension. It states that the extension has been approved and gives me additional time to file my return. However, I am unsure which Form [redacted] was processed through your service. Now that the extension has been accepted, I am uncertain how to print the Form [redacted].

I was charged $84.78 on my card yesterday. I received a refund 2 months ago, and I assumed the charge would have been deducted back then. I was under the impression it would be automatically deducted from my refund but was never informed otherwise. Recently, I received an email notifying me that my debit card would be charged, which came as a surprise. After speaking with customer service, we both acknowledged the miscommunication, but the call got disconnected. I strongly feel the charge should have been deducted as mentioned during my tax refund process. I never received any notifications about having to pay separately. The sudden charge has impacted my ability to pay my electric bill. I kindly request a refund of the $84.78 or at least a partial refund. The communication regarding this process should have been clearer, or I should have been informed earlier than just a few days prior to the deduction from my account.
