The issue in GetHuman-kdhasam's own words
When I got to my Missouri return, and to the **** insurance question, the free version would not let me proceed, it kept circling back to the you must upgrade to Turbo Tax Deluxe version for $**.**. There was some additional form needed completed due to tax law change and a new write off from Obama care and not using full yearly credit. It showed my Missouri refund would be $*** with this credit. Every year for the last **-** years I owe Missouri around $***. I said okay, I can't proceed anyway as the software won't let me, and it is only $**, I will still be coming out $*** ahead. I went ahead and went deluxe. It showed my estimated refund state and fed between **** and ****. However, I get a message that pops up that at this time my state cannot be finished as there are a couple forms unavailable at this time. The message says to watch my email for notification as to when I can finish my state. I go ahead a d go through the remaining steps. The $** upgrade to deluxe is now $***. WTF? This is all on *******. Then on ******* I get the email, my state is ready to finish. I log in and all it needed was a signature* no additional form. AND no $***. My refund is showing as $**. Turbo tax definitely got one over on me. I did not need to upgrade to deluxe. I don't itemize, have never itemized. I want Turbo tax to refund me the $*** and never do this to another person. Very bad business practice!
