We have been very satisfied with Travelocity in the past. Unfortunately our latest experience has left us very disappointed and has marred what should have been a great vacation. To begin, we booked our trip through an agent and had understood that our return flight would be in the evening and not at *:**am! When the agent processed payment we noticed that we were charged US funds instead of CAD. We were transferred to customer service to deal with this issue but did not get a chance to view the itinerary and confirm that all was to satisfaction. The agent insisted that it was our mistake and that we were on the US site and that is why the amount was different. While my husband discussed this with him, I called my bank and they confirmed that it was US funds and not a Pending Authorization charge of $***.** which was what the agent also said it was. He had no idea. This was then escalated to a manager and the issue was resolved, but I have to wait ** days for my refund. This is unacceptable. We had to insist in order for the rep to understand the error. We were made to feel that it was our mistake. To make matters worse, we misunderstood the itinerary for our return flight when confirming by phone and are now being penalized for it. It was determined through an investigation that the agent reviewed the itinerary with us. Again, unfortunately we understood pm and not am. We would have never booked a flight that early. Causing what should have been a five day holiday to become a four day and long flight home. We were unable to check the itinerary emailed to us that same evening due to our efforts focused on resolving the issue with the overcharge. In the end it was not a great experience and we will more than likely not be using travelocity again.
