My 15-month-old Ameristar A/C unit suddenly stopped cooling last Saturday, leaving the house at 87 degrees. I contacted a local company authorized by Ameristar for repairs since the original installer is no longer operating. The repair turned out to be a significant one, involving soldering and coolant replacement due to a manufacturer fault found during assembly - a brazed joint failure at the stem led to pressure leakage and refrigerant loss. The cost of the repair came to over $[redacted]. When reaching out to Ameristar's warranty customer service, I was informed that the installer needs to submit the warranty claim, but since they are out of business, this has become a roadblock. The local repair company refuses to submit the claim as they did not install the unit. It's frustrating not to find anyone willing to take responsibility for the manufacturer's defect within the unit.

Complaint to Trane Corporate about Service from Armacost Trane in Billings and Great Falls: I am writing to express my dissatisfaction with the service provided by Stacy Uecker at Armacost Trane in Billings and Great Falls. I am Edd Gryder from Watermark Estate Management Services, LLC, managing an estate in the Yellowstone Club. Our Trane BAS system consists of various controllers and modules, but we have faced ongoing issues with poorly trained technicians and inadequate support from Armacost. Despite repeated attempts to resolve technical issues, we have not received satisfactory assistance. The primary problem was improper configuration by Armacost, leading to operational failures. Requests for timely updates and bug fixes have been ignored, causing significant disruptions to our system. Furthermore, the lack of response and dismissive attitude displayed by Stacy have been unacceptable. We are requesting direct technical support from Trane corporate to address our service needs promptly and effectively. It is essential for us to transition away from Armacost to ensure the smooth operation of our facility. We would appreciate your urgent attention to this matter. Thank you for your cooperation. Please reach out to me at your earliest convenience.

I purchased a Trane model 4WCC[redacted]0A in May [redacted]. The condenser blower motor stopped working nearly 3 weeks ago. The part should be covered under the 5-year "base warranty," as confirmed by Trane's warranty department representatives. Unfortunately, they insist that the unit is registered as commercial, providing only a one-year warranty, despite my assurance that it was installed in my home. Despite providing ample evidence, Trane has not updated the registration in their system to honor the warranty claim. I've spoken with multiple representatives, but there has been no resolution. Promises of supervisor callbacks have gone unfulfilled, and my local technician is unable to order the part due to the system showing the warranty as expired. Trane's lack of assistance and delays have been frustrating. The part costs over $[redacted], and all I am asking for is for it to be covered as per the warranty. My customer ID # is [redacted]. Disappointed and dissatisfied with Trane's handling of this issue.

My customer ID is [redacted], given to me by a particularly unpleasant customer service representative. I noticed online that your customer service has received only 3 stars, which seems generous considering my recent experience. Our home, less than 3 years old, required a new compressor. Although the compressor itself was covered under warranty, I had to pay $[redacted].82 for labor and parts. It was shocking to see a compressor fail so soon. Being 8 months pregnant with 2 young children, enduring the heat for 4 days without AC was unbearable. The unit's serial number is 15103JLJ5F and the model number is 4TTR3060D10000NA. It was impossible to obtain another number without dismantling the entire unit. I can provide a photo of the entire label if required. I hope that Trane can take some responsibility for the faulty product and help offset the significant expense we had to bear. This issue has been shocking to everyone who has heard about it.

I was assigned customer ID # [redacted] by a rather unpleasant customer service representative. Despite your 3-star rating, my recent experience would rate much lower due to this encounter. The compressor in my less than 3-year-old home broke unexpectedly, leaving me, 8 months pregnant with 2 young children, enduring the heat of the summer's hottest weekend for 4 days before a technician could arrive. Although the part was under warranty from its [redacted] manufacture date, I had to pay $[redacted].82 for repairs. I believe the company should help cover some of these costs to uphold their product quality. For reference, the serial number is 15103JLJ5F, and the model number is 4TTR3060D1000NA. Without disassembling the unit, I cannot provide further numbers. I look forward to a positive response so I can continue to recommend your products.

Hello, I would like to report an issue with the American Standard Heat pump we purchased in [redacted] from McMillan Air. Since Saturday, July 28th, it has been working intermittently. Despite four visits from the distributor and a part replacement, the unit is still not functioning correctly, causing the temperature inside our home to rise. Due to my sister's health conditions, including stage 3 chronic kidney disease and heart problems, it is crucial that we have the unit replaced under warranty. As retirees on fixed incomes, the constant power fluctuations are impacting us significantly. Living in Wittmann, AZ, where temperatures exceed [redacted] degrees, prompt resolution of this matter is essential. My name is Nancy C., and my sister is Kathleen J. Your immediate attention to this matter is greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Eight years ago, I bought a 5-ton and a 3-ton trade air conditioning unit from Cool Breeze in Miami, Florida. Three years back, the larger unit had a coil leak, causing it to freeze up, which I had repaired. Now, the 3-ton unit has a coil leak, and the warranty is covering the part, but they won't specify the breakdown of charges for labor versus freon, estimating about $[redacted]. I have a licensed independent A/C technician who can do the labor and provide freon for a much lower cost. The issue seems to be a design defect in the trade unit. I believe the aluminum piece is leaking where it meets the copper coil, and Trade should acknowledge this and support its customers. I would appreciate if they could deliver the warranted part to my technician at no extra charge for installation.

We live in Houston and have a reliable Trane service provider. Recently, we've been unhappy with the company servicing our Trane equipment in our second home in Bryan/College Station (B/CS). A friend recommended a company for a quote to replace our air handler, but our Houston service provider found the quoted equipment was incorrectly sized. They suggested finding a Trane dealer in B/CS. Upon checking the Trane website, we saw Climate Doctors of BCS listed as the sole local option, which hasn't met our expectations. The next closest companies on the website are 60 and 85 miles away. Are there any other recommended companies in Bryan/College Station that can service our Trane equipment?

I asked about a fan blower motor and received it without realizing it was missing the module. After trying to return the motor due to this missing part, I was informed by David that there are no refunds, although no refund policy was mentioned during the sale. I expressed my concerns about the lack of clarity on the receipt and the undisclosed refund policy. Despite my efforts, David was unhelpful and unwilling to assist further. I simply want to return the unused part, which cost $[redacted].20. The receipt number is [redacted] and the order number is [redacted]. The phone number for assistance is [redacted].

I bought a new Trane system in [redacted] for my home, and now it's out of warranty. Recently, I had a Trane technician come out and diagnose a leaking condenser coil in the air handling unit and a blower motor drawing too much amperage, causing loud noises. The technician mentioned that these coil issues are common in these models and can occur shortly after installation. Several neighbors with units from around the same time in our new housing development have experienced the same problems. Trane has agreed to cover repairs for others with similar issues, even out of warranty. However, when I first contacted Trane, they did not offer me the same resolution. It's disappointing that a company known for quality products and support initially didn't provide the same assistance to me.

I received your offer to cover the compressor replacement costs, but I have some concerns I'd like to address. The system was originally installed on 5/11/[redacted] and the compressor was replaced on 7/16/[redacted] after weeks of improper functioning. The technician initially quoted $1,[redacted].59 which was later lowered to $[redacted].86 for the repair. Following the compressor replacement, the unit failed after three days and another technician attributed it to incorrect charging. Subsequently, the indoor coil was suspected of leaking, and although the cost was unclear, it was eventually replaced at no charge on August 1st. The system encountered further issues with water accumulation in the auxiliary drain pan, a cracked condensate pan, and leakage into the main cabinet. My concerns include the necessity of the compressor replacement, potential damage to the air handling unit, compromised electrical components, contaminated refrigeration system, and the system's reliability in the future. I am requesting a comprehensive 10-year warranty covering both parts and labor to ensure proper coverage moving forward.

My Trane model 4TTX6048B1000BA experienced a compressor failure with serial number 81523KMIF. The entire system from Skelton's Heating and Air in Childersburg, AL was bought on 8-22-08, and the compressor issue arose on 9-23-[redacted], just after the warranty ended. I hoped Trane might adjust the cost of the replacement unit, so I requested the service technician to reach out. However, I was informed they spoke with Trane, but no discount would be given. I feel disappointed by the direct response. With John Rowland as the repairman, I'm reaching out to Trane to explore the possibility of a 50/50 cost sharing as the unit failed 30 days after the warranty lapsed. The repair at Skelton's Heating and Air cost me $[redacted].56. Thanks for your attention. Thomas W. Spraggins [redacted] Lang Road Sylacauga, AL Email: [redacted]

On Thursday, November 30, [redacted], I discovered that our heating system was blowing out cold air. The air handler was running, but the outdoor condensing unit was not. After checking the breaker and fuses, I contacted the company that installed the unit in March [redacted]. They found that the outdoor unit had no refrigerant due to a leak in the copper tubing connected to the compressor. The repair cost is $[redacted], but the manufacturer agreed to cover $[redacted]. I believe that since the unit is only a little over four years old, the entire cost should be covered. I already paid $[redacted] for the diagnosis, and with just a one-year warranty on the repair, I will end up paying $[redacted]. The company responsible for the installation and service is Blythewood Heating & AC, and any assistance in resolving this issue would be appreciated. Sincerely, Steve

I purchased a TRANE heating and air conditioning system back in [redacted]. I have been impressed with the TCONT900AC43UA Comfort Control, allowing me to manage humidity by adjusting temperatures. However, for the past two years, I have been encountering an intermittent "ERR 91" on the control panel, causing the fan to stop working temporarily. After reviewing the accompanying manuals and seeing the "Communication Fault" alert code 91, I have been trying to identify the "COM LED" to troubleshoot the issue. I would appreciate guidance on locating this LED and instructions to provide to my service technician for resolving the problem. Despite being advised to wait for a "Hard Failure" before seeking emergency service, I believe proactive measures could prevent larger issues in the future.

In October, I had JP Plumbing from Statesville install a new system for me. I paid in cash, but unfortunately, the unit keeps malfunctioning. Even after two visits where they replaced different parts, the issue persists. When I requested a replacement, the company refused. Spending $[redacted] on a system that doesn't work properly is frustrating. I have been advised to reach out to you, and if this issue isn't resolved, legal action might be my next step. The system, supposedly Ameristar, was recommended by the company who stated it is made by Trane. I recently had a Trane unit put in the upstairs area, and it has been flawless. I am disappointed that the new system is giving me so much trouble despite assurances that it would perform well because it's made by Trane. I am looking forward to hearing from someone regarding this matter.

I bought a new Trane A/C in April [redacted], costing $[redacted].00. Every month, I struggle to change the filter due to its configuration. I purchased it through Service America in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. Upon trying to schedule a yearly tune-up recently, I discovered Service America had closed down after 30 years and didn't register my unit, leaving me with a 5-year warranty instead of the promised 10 years. I feel this is unjust, reducing my warranty due to their oversight. My late husband and I have been loyal Trane customers for over 35 years. I hope Trane can support me during this difficult time and reinstate the original 10-year warranty. Additionally, I would appreciate if they could address the filter issue. Thank you, Suzanne E. Buono

We have owned our Trane system for two and a half years. The heat pump and air conditioning unit outside have never worked properly. The furnace works fine, but we've had multiple issues with the AC and heat pump unit. Despite replacing many parts, the system still fails. Currently, the compressor is locked up for the fourth time. We are in touch with Shamrock Heating and Cooling, but they haven't provided a solution. We've been without AC or heat for most of our ownership. Paying $[redacted] a month for a faulty system is frustrating. I am losing faith in Trane and Shamrock. If this isn't resolved, legal action may be taken. I've called Shamrock multiple times without a resolution. Please contact me between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. EST at the number: [redacted].

Fifteen years ago, I had a construction company build my house and requested a quiet and efficient AC system, which led to the installation of a Trane system. After 13 years, the system started malfunctioning, failing to heat in the winter or cool in the summer. Following recommendations, we installed a brand new Trane system a year ago. Since then, we've experienced recurring issues during both hot and cold seasons. Despite numerous visits from Dyess Heating and Air technicians, the problems persist. The system will temporarily work before reverting to its malfunctioning state. Recently, during extreme heat, the system failed, forcing me to endure uncomfortable conditions. Given the health risk to my elderly father, I'm deeply troubled and dissatisfied with the Trane product. I urge for a swift resolution, whether through replacing the faulty unit, resolving the issues, or refunding the costs involved. Thank you, Thomas & Judith Williams.

Hello. About seven years ago, I purchased and had a new air conditioning system installed by ALL Year. Recently, my home became uncomfortably warm, prompting me to contact them for assistance. They discovered that the issue stemmed from a faulty Trane air compressor still covered under warranty, with labor and refrigerant costs totaling approximately $[redacted]. I acknowledge my responsibility for labor costs but am troubled by the unexpected expense of hundreds of dollars for contaminated refrigerant caused by the faulty compressor. Despite maintaining the unit yearly as recommended, I now find myself incurring additional expenses due to a component I was assured was top quality when I made the initial investment. I'm seeking reimbursement from Trane for the refrigerant expenses resulting from their compressor's failure. I believe this is a justified request, considering I have diligently followed all maintenance protocols and the root cause was the defective compressor. The service appointment with ALL Year is scheduled for tomorrow, July 31st. They can be reached at [redacted], located at [redacted] Industrial Way Dr., Kernersville, North Carolina. I would appreciate your understanding of the situation, as this unforeseen financial burden was caused by a defect beyond my control. Thank you for your attention to this matter. Best regards, Colleen K.

I am in the process of installing a new VFD TR170 on a CGAM chiller. Unfortunately, upon opening the box, I discovered there was no information provided with the new VFD. I reached out to Danfoss for assistance since they manufacture the VFD for your company. They directed me to find all the necessary information and parameters for installation on the Trane website. However, after searching the website, I only managed to locate the programming guide and nothing more pertaining to the installation of the VFD. I am struggling with understanding how to properly install the VFD and utilize the new quick startup menu, especially with the increased number of parameters compared to the old TR1. I require assistance and would appreciate speaking with someone who can explain this new VFD to me. I urgently need the information to proceed with replacing at least three units which are currently non-functional. Thank you, Dave HVAC Tek. HAAF.
