Hi there, I am having an issue in Thunderbird where I can receive emails but not send them. I keep getting the error message: "Sending of the message failed. The message could not be sent because the connection to the Outgoing server (SMTP) mail.fortengineering.co.uk timed out. Try again." I've tried different outgoing servers provided, but none seem to be working. Could you please advise on what steps I should take to resolve this? Thank you.

I am experiencing multiple issues with my email account. Firstly, when I access the sent folder, the messages are listed, but as soon as I hover my mouse over them, they disappear. Additionally, when I try to view messages in my inbox, it shows a message stating "file not found, mailbox cannot be found." Furthermore, when I attempt to send a message, I receive an error indicating "There is not enough disk space to download new messages." It suggests deleting old mail, emptying the Trash folder, and compacting mail folders. These issues all started simultaneously.

In May [redacted], while troubleshooting a connection issue with my internet provider's technical support, I was instructed to delete a setting, possibly my password. After following the advice, Thunderbird wasn't able to connect to my email. Despite the tech's inability to resolve the problem, I haven't been able to find where the password should be entered. I've resorted to using my provider's online platform for email access, but I prefer using Thunderbird to download my emails. Is there an option to chat or speak with someone directly to address this issue? Communicating through email seems time-consuming, and I'd appreciate a quicker solution.

In May [redacted], while receiving technical support from my internet provider, I was advised to delete a certain setting - possibly my password. This action led to Thunderbird being unable to connect to my email account for downloading purposes. Despite attempts to troubleshoot, I am unable to locate where the password should be stored. I have resorted to using my email via the provider's online platform, yet I am eager to return to using Thunderbird for downloading emails. Seeking assistance from Thunderbird support, I hope to identify the issue and receive clear instructions on how to resolve it step by step.

For about a month, there has been an issue with receiving emails consistently on the [redacted] home account. While the [redacted] email is working fine, the plbilyeu account is experiencing difficulties. When trying to access all the mail, only gbilyeu emails are received along with an error message about failed password sending for [redacted] Consequently, sending emails from the plbilyeu account is not possible during these episodes. The most frustrating part is the irregularity of when the plbilyeu emails finally come through, allowing for sending messages from that account. Currently, there are approximately 60 messages accumulated over three days in Yahoo waiting to be forwarded.

I have been using Thunderbird email for many years, originally with ATT and now with Verizon. However, Thunderbird still has my old ATT phone number as a reference, which is causing issues as it is no longer in use. For the past 24 hours, I have been unable to access my email as Thunderbird does not recognize my password. I have tried restarting both Thunderbird and my computer in SAFE mode, but it hasn't resolved the problem. I have an sbcglobal email account, but I am unable to access it on my computer, smartphone, or even online at Yahoo.com because none of them recognize my password. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Since updating my computer, I've experienced issues accessing my email through Thunderbird, my preferred email manager. I've resorted to using Mediacom, my server, which is not as convenient for me. Additionally, I seem to have lost my personalized desktop setup and I'm unable to access my files like photos and documents. I encountered problems sending a photo on Facebook as well. Thunderbird is not recognizing my server address, even though my PC is reported safe by Malwarebytes and Bitdefender. I'm looking for a simple solution to either restore Thunderbird functionality or find a new, user-friendly email manager to use.

Hello! I need assistance with migrating Thunderbird to a new MacBook Pro. I encountered several issues and had to create a new user on the new computer to download Thunderbird, but the data did not transfer. Recently, I've been unable to send emails due to an error with the outgoing SMTP server configuration. After checking closely, I noticed two differences: the computer name in the file path and the addition of "(default)" on my new computer's SMTP server name. I'm unable to change it. Any help would be greatly appreciated as I find it inconvenient to switch between two computers for work tasks. Thank you! Kris

I've been using Thunderbird email for over 2 years. On 3-1-19, my main email account stopped working. After contacting ATT, they suggested changing the password, but the issue persists. I have to access my emails through Yahoo instead. Please help me resolve this quickly. Thank you.

Hello, my name is Sean Curry. We encountered an issue with sending emails. Everything was working properly, but suddenly stopped around noon Pacific time. We are using the latest version of Thunderbird with GoDaddy's Exchange server (Office [redacted]) set up via IMAP. While we could receive emails and access folders, Thunderbird displayed a "Login to server failed" message when attempting to send emails. The problem persisted for about 2 hours and then resolved itself. I confirmed all account settings and DNS configurations with GoDaddy, which were accurate and unchanged. Despite multiple attempts, including removing and re-adding the account, rebooting, and verifying server settings with GoDaddy, the issue persisted. One affected user has Windows 10, while I have Windows 7, and though outdated, everything was functioning before the problem arose. Currently, the system is working as expected, but I am unsure if there was an outage or the specific cause of the problem to prevent it from happening again.

I have been attempting to get in touch with Thunderbird without success. There doesn't seem to be a telephone number available, and I am having trouble providing an email that is accepted since it's already linked to me. Even my login name and password are apparently in use by someone else. I've used Mailwasher for a long time and only started using Thunderbird recently on the recommendation of a computer installer, but I've been disappointed with it. I've lost two important folders recently - my bills history and my main keep file - but when I recreated them, they appeared as Bills2 and Keep2, indicating they might still exist somewhere. While I wait for assistance, I am looking for a more user-friendly email system with better support. I will stick with Mailwasher but Thunderbird leaves a lot to be desired. Thank you, Jim E.

I have been attempting to reach out to Thunderbird for assistance without success. There is no telephone number available, and my email address is not accepted due to already being in use. I have encountered login issues as well. After being a satisfied MailWasher user for years, I switched to Thunderbird based on a recommendation but have been disappointed with it. I am unable to locate my main folders, such as my bills history and essential files, and have observed them named differently when recreated. While awaiting support, I am exploring other email options with better assistance. I will continue to use MailWasher, but Thunderbird leaves much to be desired. Thank you, Jim E.

I am seeking assistance with setting up my Thunderbird email program. I contacted a hotline at 1-[redacted] and was informed that my computer needed cleaning due to an infection. After agreeing, I followed the instructions provided and everything seemed to be working fine. However, three days later, I was contacted by a person named Chris who admitted to making mistakes during the cleanup process. They assured me that the corrections would be free of charge. Unfortunately, my computer now appears to be more infected, slow, and inaccessible. I am hesitant to pay the invoice of $[redacted].94 from ASTRUM LLC. INFOTECH on behalf of Thunderbird. I urgently need Thunderbird's assistance to resolve this issue. Please contact me at 1-[redacted] or 1-[redacted]. Thank you. - W. Leuthner

I am encountering an issue sending emails via Thunderbird 60.8.0 using my suddenlink.net account. The program prompts me to enter a new password, but even after doing so, I continue to receive the same message. I have been using Thunderbird seamlessly with suddenlink.net for many years until this recent problem arose. Surprisingly, I am able to receive emails without any issues. According to Suddenlink, the problem lies with the application since I can send emails from their server's web page without any obstacles. I kindly request guidance on how to resolve this matter. For smooth communication, I am providing an alternate email address. Best regards, SW

I have been using Mozilla Thunderbird for my Gmail emails. However, since last night, I've been experiencing issues with some of my Gmail emails not showing up in Thunderbird. Even though I can view them when I log in directly to Gmail via the Google website, they do not appear in Thunderbird. I have checked the "all mail" and "spam" folders to ensure they are not filtered out, but I cannot find any logical reason why certain emails are missing. These emails consist of personal messages as well as important business correspondence, and the inconsistency is concerning.

Since the latest update, I've been contemplating remaking the horror flick "Nightmare on Elm Street". However, I've encountered issues with sending emails as attachments. After hitting send, it takes forever for the email to go through. Testing on Eastlink webmail showed quick results, but sending emails through my regular provider is slow. Also, I am unable to print emails before sending them. My IT guy has faced similar problems with other clients after your updates. If this isn't resolved, I may consider switching providers and advising my associates to do the same. For now, please contact me at [redacted]. I prefer a call, but emailing is fine if necessary. Not a satisfied customer. Regards, M.

I encountered trouble with Thunderbird when it got stuck on "Preparing to Copy" during reinstall after I had to remove it due to freezing. The application won't proceed further, and I'm unable to close it to attempt a fresh installation. This has been frustrating, and I am seeking guidance on how to terminate the ongoing Thunderbird installation process and eliminate it from my iMac running OS Catalina 10.15.5.

I have a question regarding message filters in Thunderbird. I am using Thunderbird on two machines, and I have set up filters to copy specific messages to their corresponding folders under "Local Folders." I choose to copy instead of move to ensure this action takes place on both machines. An issue arises when I don't delete the original message from the Inbox. If the message remains in the Inbox, it gets repeatedly copied to the designated folder. My question is: Is there a way to instruct Thunderbird to copy a message only once while keeping it in the Inbox? I avoid using "Move" because I think it would only operate on the first machine where the message is received, neglecting the second machine. Thank you, Jim

My email account ([redacted]) under [redacted] was hacked on July 26, [redacted]. The hacker transferred my emails to their own account (president of [redacted]) and attempted to request $[redacted] gift certificates from my contacts. Sasktel stopped the transfer, and with the help of Just Answer, I managed to regain control of my Facebook account and changed my passwords. I also updated my email passwords as a precaution. However, the hacker may still have access to my accounts. I noticed some suspicious activities on my email and Facebook accounts, showing locations I've never been to. I've been in touch with various parties regarding this issue. I'm concerned if the intruder is still in my Thunderbird and Firefox systems. I have been using Sasktel Webmail to send messages, and that seems secure. Any advice on how to remove this intruder would be appreciated.

Hello, I am a Telus email user and have been notified that Telus will stop using a 3rd party for emails. I am unable to be transferred to their Google server until I update Thunderbird. My email service is currently unavailable until I update Thunderbird and create a new password. I believe you might have a solution, but I can't receive emails right now. Thank you for your assistance, Cheryl W. Thank you for understanding that I prefer not to pay for help as I had issues with that before. I will provide my email for contact. Thank you.
