The issue in GetHuman-phive_'s own words
I was driving home from vacation the other day with to kayaks on my Thule roof rack system. * sets of foot packs and bars holding * "J' carriers. The passenger side rear carrier base broke coming loose from the rail. Before I knew it the passenger side boat flew across the roof of my truck and smashed into the driver side boat breaking the rear J carrier off that rack. Before I could safely come to a stop the weight of the * kayaks hanging over the side actually pulled the whole rack from the roof leaving both kayaks and pieces of the rack all over the busy hi way. Thankfully I had no vehicles right behind me at the time. This scared the heck out of the * year old watching this whole event through the glass roof leaving her screaming in tears.*after stopping traffic to collect all the rack parts and kayaks, I took multiple pictures of the mess. The damage to my truck is sickening. Barely a year old and I'm now left with * bent door frames, a ** inch gouge about *** inch deep on door frame, dents and gouges right across my roof, scratches down driver side of truck and a hole punctured right through my hard top tonnaeu cover totaling I'm sure many thousands of dollars.**I have trusted the Thule brand for years and I'm very diligent before leaving to check all straps and components for tightness. I take great pride in everything I own to keep it looking new and in perfect working order as I work very hard to have nice things.**If I was ever to use these products again now I would like to see the entire roof system that I had at the time fully replaced as I don't know what kind of stress the other parts now have on them due to the failure of the rear rack. *Also I feel like I should be compensated for the complete waste of my time and expenses that this products failure is going to cost me to get my new truck fixed.
