I would like to address the issue of difficulty in hearing the correspondents due to the voice-over reading the ticker at the bottom of the screen. In Greenwood, we appreciate the local reporting; however, we are eager to hear from the weather channel without the voice-over interference. Can this be resolved so we can enjoy the updates from Charleston, Greenville, Charlotte, and others more clearly? Thank you for your assistance in ensuring a better viewing experience by minimizing the voice-over interruptions during broadcasts.

My daughter lives 10-12 miles north of Hoquiam, WA, off Hwy-[redacted] along the Humptulips River. The other day around 6 pm, she observed a white fog on the ground about 15-20 ft. high that transformed into a black fog in less than 30 seconds right before her eyes. There was no smell of fire, but her large dog began barking and growling intensely, with hair standing on end, wanting to get away. The black fog appeared between the house and the river while the surrounding fog remained white, and her dog was only frightened of the black fog. Despite being an outdoor enthusiast, my daughter found the unfamiliar and unsettling situation concerning, prompting her to take shelter with her pets indoors by locking all the windows and doors. Any insights on this phenomenon would be appreciated. Thanks, S.B.

Hello, I'm experiencing an issue with the 10-day forecast for my city. Previously, I could toggle between viewing each day from left to right or from top to bottom. Currently, only the top-to-bottom format is available. I kindly request that you bring back the option to view the forecast from left to right. Thank you for your assistance.

I have spent most of my life living on the coast, from OBX to Pensacola. In the past, you were the go-to for accurate information and immediate threats, but recently, there has been a shift. As a weather enthusiast and a professional in the communication industry, weather plays a crucial role in my work. Unfortunately, the sensationalized reporting has caused more harm than good. I feel disheartened by the exaggeration of weather events solely for ratings, which has led to unnecessary panic and disruptions in my personal life. Last year, due to a hurricane that never arrived, my daughter’s college in FL canceled classes for over a week, leaving me to host and take care of several stranded college girls. The overreaction to situations like Alberto has now also impacted my vacation and further disrupted my life.

Weather advisories are indicated by a number sign in a circle at the top of the page. These advisories continue to be displayed even after they have expired. Only current advisories should be visible. I faced this issue over the holiday weekend while checking the weather and advisories for Bethany Beach, DE. On Monday around 11:45 a.m., I noticed advisories from the previous evening still showing, which should have been removed since they were no longer in effect. This is a recurring problem. The same issue exists for Potomac, MD. It's crucial to only display the current warning in effect. It would be helpful to have definitions of watch and warning when viewing the details of the advisory rather than having to search for them separately. I struggle with technology and having these definitions readily available would enhance my experience. If possible, please contact me to discuss this matter. Thank you and have a great day. Best regards, Elaine

In Western NC, a peculiar phenomenon occurs in the mountains that some scientists may not yet recognize. Moisture-laden clouds moving from the south collide with cooler air descending from the north, causing warm air to rise along the mountains. This compression leads to intense condensation, forming towering columns of water that cascade down like a river from the sky. These water columns impact the ground forcefully, carving through the soil down to the bedrock, uprooting trees, and creating flooding downstream. In areas with no watershed above, these phenomena leave distinctive marks of destruction with mud splattered on trees and clean bedrock below, evidencing a powerful force absent of prior saturation or rainfall. This occurrence is not a mudslide and does not result from regular raindrops, posing a unique weather event that warrants further investigation and understanding.

I frequently check the Weather Channel for updates on the weather throughout the day. Lately, I have been encountering issues where the website shows either a blank page or a "[redacted] bad request" error for the past two months. Despite clearing my cache and cookies multiple times, the problem persists, and it seems to be unique to your site. I reached out via email a while ago but never received a response, which is disheartening. I hope someone can address this longstanding issue so I can continue using your site hassle-free like before. Thank you for your attention to this matter. -Terri

I am frustrated by being forced to listen to weather alerts on a voiceover that interrupts the broadcast. While I appreciate the need for accessibility, I am looking for a solution that doesn't involve muting the channel. My friends from other areas and I prefer a more interactive weather update rather than a robotic voice. I have reached out to my cable company, who directed me to the FCC. None of my local channels have this issue. I am seeking advice on how to stop this voiceover or potentially have it adjusted for a better viewing experience. Your guidance on resolving this matter would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Living in Brunswick, GA, we rely on news and weather updates from Jax FL and Savannah GA. Last fall, another weather channel we counted on was discontinued, and we miss their quick forecasts like the local on the 8's. Without this coverage, we lack vital information about weather in our region, except during major events like Hermene, Matthew in [redacted], and Irma in [redacted]. It’s disheartening to see the decline in informative local coverage. While we appreciate updates about weather in other regions, there's a need for more focus on Georgia. We hope for more in-depth local reporting since we have been loyal viewers for decades, but the current content is lacking. It would be great to see more attention given to our state, considering other channels may not offer the same coverage.

Subject: Discrepancy in Rainfall Data for Dunlap, TN (Zip Code [redacted]) on TWC Website Greetings from Dunlap, TN! I am reaching out to discuss a persistent discrepancy I have noticed in the rainfall data for my area on The Weather Channel's website. I typically rely on my personal weather station for rainfall measurements and compare them to the data provided by TWC's Almanac for Zip Code [redacted]. Over the past few months, I have observed inconsistencies between the TWC Almanac and the daily accumulation data shown on the TWC monthly calendar. As of today, there is a notable difference in the recorded rainfall accumulation for Zip Code [redacted]. The TWC Almanac states a monthly accumulation of 0.41”, while the TWC monthly calendar only shows a total of 0.10” through August 4, [redacted]. I would appreciate clarification on which data source is more accurate for Zip Code [redacted] - the TWC Calendar or the TWC Almanac. Furthermore, I am curious about the reasons behind these discrepancies and why the two sources do not align in their accumulation reporting. Thank you for your attention to this matter. Best regards, C.R. Schneider [redacted] Neal Road Dunlap, TN 37[redacted]

If female staff members do not wish to be called "Weather Girls" and staff dislike being referred to as "Weather Geeks," maybe Hawaii should be acknowledged as a state rather than just a tourist spot. Although tourism is the main industry for obvious reasons, in Kansas, locations are identified using cardinal directions and county names. It seems simplistic to refer to Hawaii's islands by common names like "The Big Island" or "the little island." During serious events like hurricanes, suggesting using county names for geographic locations would show Hawaii the same respect as the other states. Consider giving this approach a chance to enhance your perspective and that of your viewers. Thank you for considering this suggestion. - H.C. McGuire, Wichita, KS

After reading Eric Zerkel's article "The United States of Climate Change: California, The Flood That Could Change Everything," I was pleasantly surprised by the well-researched content. I kept a copy on my desktop and shared it with friends, realizing its value as a reference. I am interested in obtaining a printed version for long-term use. Could you please provide details on how I can purchase a printed copy for delivery by mail or guidance on downloading it onto a USB key for printing at a local shop? Thank you in advance for your assistance. Having comprehensive information like this available for leisurely reading is something I truly appreciate. - Lanna Seuret

There are evident signs of increasing storms, with the possibility of hurricanes reaching a rating above 5, while the western part of the country is experiencing severe fires due to prolonged drought. It is crucial for news reports to discuss Global Warming and Climate Change to provide a holistic view of weather patterns and their causes. The impact of ice shelves breaking off in Antarctica and glaciers melting in the North Atlantic is contributing to rising sea levels. Ignoring the man-made factors behind climate change hinders our ability to address the issue and implement solutions. Examining the historical trends of carbon dioxide levels in the atmosphere shows a drastic change in recent times. Looking at successful initiatives in countries like Holland in sustainable agriculture and green energy solutions can inspire similar actions elsewhere. It's essential to move beyond reporting on disasters and focus on being a part of the solution. Thank you for your attention. - M. L. from Palm Coast, FL.

I am disappointed by the weather report showing exaggerated wind conditions at Wrightsville Beach. It is crucial for the community to trust accurate information provided by the Weather Channel. The credibility of the weather report was compromised by this misleading portrayal. As a concerned viewer from the area and a Charlotte resident with family there, reliability is paramount. The incident has gained attention on social media, and an apology or transparent explanation is necessary. The focus should be on delivering factual information rather than sensationalism for ratings. It is essential to maintain trust and prioritize integrity in reporting. Regards, Lynn.

My son is incarcerated at Cross City Correctional Institution (CCCI) in Florida, which is currently under a mandatory evacuation due to the potential storm surge from Hurricane Dorian. Despite the area being at risk of significant flooding, CCCI has not made plans to evacuate the inmates. I have reached out to multiple authorities, including the Florida Department of Corrections and Governor Rick Scott's office, but have not received a satisfactory response. While Governor Scott urges people to evacuate, it appears that inmates at CCCI are not being moved to safety. I have also tried to contact President Trump regarding this issue. I am deeply concerned about my son's well-being, and I am troubled by the lack of action from government officials. Thank you for your assistance. Sincerely, L. Stiles

I reside in Valley, Lanett, and LaFayette, Ala. area. Previously, we received local weather updates on the 8's for Lanett from the Weather Channel. Recently, the Weather Channel has changed our local weather coverage to Columbus, Ga., which does not accurately represent our area. The current weather updates display for cities like Columbus, Thomaston, LaGrange, and Opelika, none of which are local to us in the Valley-Lanett area. I watch the Weather Channel on Charter TV channel 41, and now, when I try to check the 8's weather, it shows Columbus, Ga. I live significantly further away from Columbus and would prefer to see accurate updates for Lanett in zip code [redacted]. It seems the shift has occurred from providing weather for Lanett, LaGrange, Auburn-Opelika, to featuring Columbus, LaGrange, Thomaston, Ft. Benning, Opelika, and Lanett, which is not helpful. Could you please address this issue and ensure that we receive our local weather updates accurately on the Local on the 8's in the Lanett-Valley area? Thank you for your attention to this matter. I encountered disrespectful comments allegedly from Max H., a climatologist at the Weather Channel, during an exchange on our Costa Rican weather service's Facebook page. The derogatory remarks made me question if this individual, claimed to be affiliated with the Weather Channel, truly represents the organization or if it might be an impersonator. The offensive nature of the content is concerning and warrants clarification regarding his association with the Weather Channel.

Subject: Re: Assistance Needed with Weather Channel Desktop Hello, I am reaching out again as I have not received a response to my previous request for assistance with my Weather Channel Desktop. Since switching to Windows 10 on a new computer, I have encountered several issues: 1. When selecting a Desktop TWC site for radar, I am consistently redirected to the Colorado map. As a Colorado Springs resident, I prefer radar for the Air Force Academy area but have to manually navigate to different regions each time. 2. The "Feels Like" temperature displayed for all sites mirrors the actual temperature, which seems inaccurate. 3. My chosen home site intermittently changes without my input. Air Force Academy is sometimes replaced by Colorado Springs or Cimarron Hills, leading to conflicting data. I believe I have tried adjusting my locations, but the interface is unclear with symbols like a circle with a dot or a house. I am unable to modify these settings. I have been a loyal Weather Channel user for years and hope to resolve these desktop application issues promptly. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. Thank you, M.S. On 12/11/18, I noticed the new App isn't user-friendly. The color scheme is hard to differentiate, making it difficult to navigate. Even finding a 2-week forecast is a challenge. The layout seems cluttered, lacking clear organization. Frustratingly, I couldn't locate any customer service numbers for assistance. I tried calling [redacted] and [redacted] without success, and emailing doesn't feel satisfactory. I've been a loyal Weather Channel user for years, but I'm disappointed with the current app design. It seems outdated and impractical. I'm considering switching to a different weather app given the lack of usability and customer support.

I recently watched a video on your channel where a person threw frozen pants into the air with a caption mentioning a wind chill of 50 degrees below zero. Given the current severe weather across the country, I found this video and comment to be disgraceful and offensive. The extreme cold has tragically resulted in deaths and will likely cause more harm to people and animals. I doubt that all homeless individuals have found adequate shelter. The video seemed insensitive as it focused on a light-hearted moment while neglecting to address the true devastation caused by the harsh weather. It's disappointing that your channel chose to showcase this rather than highlighting the hardships faced by many. Apologies should be offered to the affected families and prayers should be sent for all beings impacted by this terrible weather event.
