On May 29, [redacted], at approximately 9:30 am, I had an unfortunate experience at the DMV office on [redacted] Dacoma, Houston, TX [redacted]. I'd like to address some concerns about the customer service there. The individual with glasses and two braids at the welcome desk near the kiosks was unhelpful and dismissive when I asked for assistance, whereas another staff member kindly helped me out. Additionally, a new staff member at Station 11, identified by the user id LA23176, seemed unsure of procedures and displayed rude behavior towards me and my child. Despite waiting in line for a significant amount of time, I left feeling confused about the next steps due to his unprofessional attitude. It's essential that the DMV addresses these issues to ensure better customer experiences.

As US military members stationed at Fort Sam Houston in San Antonio, Texas, and also Texas state residents, my partner and I recently returned to San Antonio and sought to register our vehicle that we bought around eight years ago. Despite having the bill of sale as proof of tax payment, we were surprised to be asked to pay taxes on the vehicle once more when we went to the Nacogdoches DMV in San Antonio. We have previously registered this vehicle in four other states and in Europe. It was unexpected and disappointing to be charged $[redacted] for taxes that we believed we had already paid.

I received a letter from the Texas DPS on January 30, [redacted], notifying me that my Texas driver's license would be indefinitely revoked on 3/14/[redacted] due to medical reasons. After a hearing at the Justice of the Peace Court pct1 in Bexar County on August 25, [redacted], the Judge ruled in my favor and provided me with a confirming letter. I was advised that no further action was required. However, when I visited the DPS Mega Center in San Antonio on Friday, 11/09/[redacted], to renew my license, I was informed that I needed to resolve the suspension matter from [redacted] before renewing my license. I am trying to locate my original driver's license number that I was issued before [redacted]. After providing my personal information at the DMV, I received a new driver's license. A couple of years later, I was stopped by the police and informed that my license was suspended, even though the one I had on me was valid. It turns out a new driver's license number was assigned to me, and I was not aware that the number stays the same. Unfortunately, I cannot recall the original number since it has been many years. I am currently going through a divorce and only earning $[redacted] per month. I believe I qualify for an indigency program, but I require my original license number as the one I remember is not valid. I am struggling to reach anyone for assistance or find the information online. Having my license is crucial for securing better job opportunities. I went to the DMV today but had to return twice due to paperwork issues. After hours of waiting, I was informed that I needed my original birth certificate, not a copy, for the license. The lack of communication wasted my time, making it impossible for me to obtain a new license now. The process was unnecessarily difficult, and I feel frustrated as I was simply trying to follow the rules and get a Texas license. The communication at the DMV needs urgent improvement to avoid such inconveniences.

I have been struggling to reach a representative at Texas DPS by calling [redacted]. Even pressing 0 as suggested during the automated message just kicks me out of the system. Trying to navigate the prompts hasn't led to speaking with a person either. The problem arises from the non-functional "get in line" feature at the mega centers in Carrollton and Garland. I've been trying to utilize this service for three weeks since moving here and registering my vehicle without success. Visiting my local DPS in Plano hasn't been fruitful either, with long lines extending outside each time I've been there. Waiting over an hour in line twice only to move a little has been frustrating. Some individuals exiting the center mentioned waiting for 4-6 hours.

I am seeking information on obtaining a Texas ID for someone who has been residing in Texas for over a year but lacks mail in their name. Would the following documents suffice as proof of residency for the ID application: - Stamped, dated mail - Check stub - Medical/dental bill - Health insurance welcome letter Moreover, can a NC Driver's License and Social Security card be used as proof of citizenship for the application? My spouse is a U.S. citizen born abroad and we need to renew his driver's license due to an address change after purchasing a home. We recently realized about the new citizenship validation requirement. Despite having various documents like his valid license, W-2, marriage certificate, mortgage papers, and original social security card, we only have a copy of his birth certification and FS-[redacted] document as the originals were lost during Hurricane Harvey. His renewal deadline coincides with his birthday on August 2nd, and if he misses it, his license will be permanently revoked. As getting a new license would take 8 weeks, he requires it for work. I've heard that citizenship proof can be confirmed through homeland security. Is there a way to use this copy and verify his citizenship in time for the renewal? Any assistance on this matter would be greatly appreciated.

Hello, Applicant ID: [redacted] I visited the DPS office on West Plano Parkway in Texas on October 24th to take my written test for the driving test. When I went to Desk 4, the lady checked my documents, took payment, and tried to print my receipt. Although my husband at Desk 3 received his receipt, the lady at my desk explained the printer was not working and promised to email it to me. After passing the written test, I went to Desk 12, explained the situation, and was registered without a receipt. I have attached my registration document here. Despite my attempts to contact the office, I have not received any responses. Having the receipt is crucial for me to proceed with the driving test, so I kindly request a check on the system for the email with the receipt. Thank you, Elif Hazal Yildirim

Why are public servants allowed to avoid interacting with the people they serve? The numerous phone call transfers just to reach a human for a simple question should result in consequences for not fulfilling the duty of serving the public. The responsibility ultimately lies with the Department head. I can at least reach a staff member in D.C., which says a lot about the service provided.

My grandson, who is now 18, experiences grand mal seizures due to a severe heatstroke incident around four or five years ago. His mother has not sent him to school or provided him with homeschooling ever since, despite no substantial obstacles preventing him from attending. His Social Security (SS) disability check has been going to his mother since he became disabled, although now that he is 18 and no longer living with her, he wishes to have it in his name. He has mentioned that his mother does not share any of the disability money with him. I took steps to inform his mother about this issue, highlighting the importance of him receiving his entitled funds. Although I believe his mother should comply, my main concern is ensuring my grandson can access what is rightfully his and begin to lead an independent life. Despite initial resistance, his mother has given him some funds but not consistently or the full amount. He disclosed that the most he received at once was $[redacted]. When he requested his birth certificate and Social Security card to claim his disability check in his name, his mother claimed they were lost. He is currently residing with a friend's family, unemployed, and needs a proof of residency to apply for a state ID for retrieving his Social Security card and managing his disability payments. As I have obtained his birth certificate, the ID remains the only obstacle. I am unsure how to proceed further to assist him effectively. Thank you.

I am frustrated with the challenges I am facing trying to reach a live person at this government department in Texas to renew my driver's license online. It seems impossible to get the assistance I need as I work in another state. I need clarity on why my renewal was denied and guidance on next steps. While I doubt that emailing will be effective, I am still hopeful for a resolution.

I visited the DPS in Hillsboro, TX to update my address on my CDL license. The staff member rushed me at the end of the day to sign some paperwork without explaining that it was for a downgraded license. Only after receiving the physical copy did I realize the mistake. I've heard of similar situations where showing the correct medical papers resulted in a reinstatement without re-testing. Despite having the proper medical certificate dated within the correct timeframe, I've been struggling to rectify this error at other DPS offices. Two separate locations acknowledged the mistake made by the staff member in Hillsboro. My last medical certificate expired on 6-6-[redacted], with the new one valid from 5-23-[redacted] to 5-23-[redacted], indicating that I had everything in order. I urgently need assistance to have my CDL reinstated as driving is my livelihood.

I went to the DPS on January 2nd to renew my driver's license. After waiting for 6 hours, I received a temporary paper license stating my new one would arrive in 30 to 45 days. However, it never showed up due to my address change. Upon trying to contact them by phone, I faced high call volume and was unable to speak with a representative. After emailing them on 2/27, I received an auto-reply promising a response within 3-5 business days. Surprisingly, someone from Austin attempted to call me on 3/4 without identifying as a Texas government or DPS representative, leaving a voicemail. Despite my efforts to reach them by phone and through additional emails, I have not received any further assistance or responses. This situation has left me frustrated as I continue to drive with an expired license. Stephanie

My grandson lost his Texas Driver's License in Utah while attending college at the University of Utah. He needs a replacement license, but the online system won't accept his provisional license number. I've tried contacting the DPS for assistance, but haven't been able to reach a live person. I've searched through FAQs but haven't found a solution. As his grandmother, I understand I can't provide personal information, but I need help with getting a replacement license without the TDL number.

I have been experiencing difficulties contacting DPS by phone and currently do not have access to one, so I am reaching out via email. I have a question regarding my divorce proceedings after being married for 41 years. My brother's driver's license expired about three or four years ago. He lost his wallet and has been trying to get a Social Security card but they won't issue it without an ID. He's also trying to get an ID, but they won't provide it without a Social Security card. We've been stuck in this loop for about a year now. Can anyone share any advice on how we can obtain either one of these vital documents? Thank you.

I recently moved and need to obtain a Texas Driver’s License. After checking last week, I found that the soonest available appointment was by the end of April. According to the dpstx website, they do allow a limited number of walk-in appointments daily. I visited the Mega Center off Wells Branch at 8:30 AM on Friday. When I arrived, the staff asked if I had an appointment, and when I mentioned I did not due to the far out availability online, the response I received was quite rude. The staff indicated that they had already accepted 8 walk-ins and suggested I should have come earlier. There was no option provided for cancellations or waiting in case of no-shows, only the implication that I was at fault for not securing a spot. This situation is frustrating and I need to address this issue with someone as the website procedures are not being adhered to.

My bank sent a letter confirming my auto loan was paid off electronically. However, I have not received the title from the state yet, although they mentioned it would arrive within 4 to 6 weeks. I am unsure where to get the title. The bank referred me to the DMV, but I can only find information about driver's licenses online. Do all DMV offices handle this? It seems the Hempstead Texas facility does not. Can anyone recommend a closer DMV to Cypress TX [redacted] that offers this service? How can I make an appointment or can I just walk in?
