I was in store a few months ago and carefully planned my purchase so that I received a promotional gift card. At the register the associate was newer and was struggling with getting the promotional card to swipe. The register told her I was to receive two cards but she attempted to place it on one gift card. Finally the manager came and helped her and seemed to get the issue resolved. I was shopping with a screaming tired three year old so I didn’t take the time to check the card to see if it was working after her struggle. So I put the card up planning to save it to go towards a Christmas purchase. So tonight I finally sit down to place an order. Adding items to the cart and taking them out and justifying each item. I finally get to the checkout and go to add my gift card and it keeps coming back invalid number. I reach out through chat first to be advised to contact through phone. So I reach a woman on the phone to be told that I now have to go back in store and then she added that if I don’t have the receipt I’m out of luck. Sorry. Now I get that typically a receipt needs to be present but I have a red card I’m sure my purchase was made on my red card and I don’t understand why it can’t be pulled up through this card. I know again it’s probally not more than **$ that was supposed to be on the card but it was an error on the cashiers part not mine. Typically I would wave this off as $** lost and leave it at that but this August my oldest son was diagnosed with muscular dystrophy and finances are incredibly tight due to it. So $** unfortunately now matters very much. So for future customers please make these somehow trackable with red card purchases and make it part of the cashiers training early on please. At the end of an impossibly long day of doctors calls and dealing with specialist and appointments the last thing anyone wants to deal with is multiple customer service lines. Thank you so much for any attention you give this. I really don’t mean to sound petty at all I’m just frustrated.
