I own a [redacted] Subaru XV Crosstrek. I recently brought it in to have the passenger side rear bearings repaired. However, I was informed that the bearings could not be removed despite attempts including soaking and tapping. They now claim that I require a new housing for the bearings, caliper, and brakes to sit on. Considering the car is not even three years old, I am disappointed and concerned that this issue indicates a flaw in the manufacturing. The cost for the repair is estimated to be between $[redacted] to $[redacted]. Currently, I am awaiting the arrival of the necessary part.

I've been experiencing an issue where the front tire stems are recessing further into the hubcap, making it impossible to access the stem cap to add air. Despite purchasing new Subaru wheel covers and even new tires, the problem persists. Neither the Subaru dealer nor anyone else has been able to provide a solution. As a result, I end up with a leak in the stem and the low tire pressure light comes on. The Subaru dealer's response has been frustrating, with them saying they have never encountered this problem before. For now, I have to drive without the wheel covers on.

When using my new Android or an Apple iPhone in my [redacted] Outback, people I am speaking with say they can't hear me when I use hands-free on the road due to loud road noise. While stopped, it's quiet, but at speeds over 40 km/h, they struggle to hear me over the loud droning noise. I have driven other SUVs for the past 8 years without any issues. When using the phone in my husband's Ford Escape or our [redacted] Dodge Charger, the call quality is perfect. However, in the Subaru, both his phone and mine have loud droning noises. Despite having closed windows and the fan off, the issue persists. How can I reduce the background noise so that the people I'm calling can hear me better, especially considering my job requires frequent calls?

My name is Selma Priest. About a year ago, I bought my first car. After only 6 months, the catalytic converter failed, and I paid $[redacted] in cash for it. I ultimately decided to purchase a different car, a [redacted] Subaru Impreza, for $12,[redacted] on finance. Immediately after leaving the lot, the engine light came on after just 61 miles. I had it checked at AutoZone, and it showed an issue with the catalytic converter. Distressed by my previous car's experience, I returned to the dealership and explained my concerns. The mechanic reset it, but the engine light reappeared. The mechanic attempted a fix by introducing something, but the car's performance has deteriorated, emitting a foul odor. I expressed my dissatisfaction to the salesman as I feel deceived into buying a problematic car. I've had to address the catalytic converter issue, costing nearly $[redacted], which is a significant burden on my social security income. I hope for assistance in resolving this matter. Sincerely, a lady struggling with a faulty Subaru.

Hello, I have been pleased with my [redacted] BRZ until recently when it experienced a sudden breakdown while driving in Phoenix, AZ. The car's clutch pedal went to the floor, got stuck in first gear, and various dash lights came on. Upon inspection at Peoria Subaru dealership, a mechanic informed me that a faulty clutch fork likely damaged the clutch and transmission. Despite the car having only 35,[redacted] miles and proper maintenance at Horne Subaru in Show Low, AZ, I am now faced with a $1,[redacted] charge for a new clutch and assembly. I discovered that the [redacted] BRZ has a known issue with defective clutch forks. I plan to share evidence with the dealership but am reaching out here for additional support, as I believe the repairs should be covered due to the faulty part. Kindly contact me via email at [redacted] as I am hearing impaired. Thank you for your prompt attention. Best regards, Richard M. Wright

Hello, I wanted to share my experience with Subaru. Last Monday, I brought my silver Subaru Crosstrek to the Chandler Subaru service department in Arizona due to an oil leak issue. I am from California and was visiting a friend in Mesa for the 4th of July. Unfortunately, my car is still being serviced, causing me to stay in Mesa longer than planned. The initial diagnosis from Vinny mentioned a transmission seal problem under warranty, but the repair deadline kept getting delayed. The actual issue turned out to be a leak from the upper oil pan on top of the engine, requiring additional parts and more waiting time. After a week without my car, I am facing financial losses from missed work and uncertainty about my job back in California. I even considered having the car repaired in California due to past bad experiences with their service. This ordeal has left me disappointed with Subaru's customer service and made me question the quality of the brand. I plan to share my negative experience with Subaru with family, friends, and colleagues. Unlike my trouble with Subaru, I have had a great experience with my Toyota Prius and will stick with that brand. Just wanted to share my honest feedback. Sent from my iPhone

Two weeks ago, I purchased a [redacted] Subaru Crosstrek Limited in dark grey metallic. I was ecstatic after much research led me to choose this model. A few years back, a Subaru protected me and my friends during a severe accident, solidifying my trust in the brand's safety and reliability. The trade-in process went well, and I happily drove off with my new car. However, my excitement dimmed when the TPMS light illuminated, prompting me to schedule a maintenance appointment. On the day of the appointment, I discovered that the lift gate was not functioning. It was disheartening to encounter these issues so soon after getting my dream vehicle. I am concerned about potential future problems with my supposedly new car.

Hello, I am Michael Blayney and I own a [redacted] Subaru. I recently discovered a plastic cover under my seat but I am unsure of its location in the car. I brought the part to the Hueburger Subaru Parts Department for help, but they couldn't identify it in their system. The service technician also couldn't pinpoint its place. As a last resort, I am considering contacting the Corporate Office for assistance. The information on the back of the cover reads: SUBARU A G[redacted] LH >PP<. I am concerned about any potential impact on the car's operation, so it would be great if someone from the Design Department could help identify this part via the details provided or if I could send a photo for further clarification. Thank you.

My Subaru Forester is currently at the dealership and is not driveable. I had it towed in and informed them that the engine was not functioning. After running a diagnostic for $[redacted], it was confirmed that the engine is indeed not working. The dealership now wants to charge $[redacted] to disassemble the engine to determine the problem and the condition of the parts, with an estimated total cost of $[redacted]-$[redacted] for rebuilding or replacing the engine. The car's value is only around $[redacted] to $12,[redacted]. I can provide records showing that the car has been well-maintained with regular oil changes. Despite this, I have already had to replace the engine and turbo twice. Since it's not covered by insurance or warranty and the dealership doesn't have loaner cars yet due to new ownership, I'm left covering the expenses, including a rental car. I believe that Subaru should take some responsibility for these ongoing issues with the engine.

Since May, I've been experiencing issues with the car I purchased in February. The problem occurs when the air conditioning is on, and the car idles poorly. Initially, it was sporadic, happening once or twice a week, but it has progressed to a daily occurrence. I took it to the dealer in Marquette, MI, and they mentioned needing to remove the remote aftermarket starter, which they suspected could be the cause. Despite the car being in the shop three times for the same issue, they claim they can't fix it until it acts up again. This is frustrating as not having the remote starter, which was a significant reason for my purchase, doesn't resolve the issue. I just want my car to run as smoothly as the loaner cars I used while mine was in the shop for two weeks. I hope they address this problem as numerous people, including the dealership staff, have witnessed and acknowledged the issue.

My [redacted] Subaru Forester's heater is broken. When I took it for repairs, I was informed that the plug and heater harness have melted, requiring an $[redacted] repair. The technician mentioned that this issue might recur due to excessive heat causing wire melting. I am wondering if Subaru considers this a potential factory recall due to the recurring nature of the problem. I believe this has occurred without any fault of my own, and I am hopeful Subaru can address this to prevent future incidents. I have been pleased with my Subaru thus far and had been contemplating buying another one in the near future. Resolving this issue will influence my decision on purchasing another Subaru.

Hello, my name is Carlos Gomez, and I reside in Livingston, New Jersey. Approximately three weeks ago, my [redacted] Subaru Outback 3.6R began producing a strange sound from the engine. Suddenly, the check engine light, brake light, and traction light began flashing. The car slowed down briefly, then the check engine light remained steady, while the brake light continued blinking until the traction light stayed steady. After turning off the car at home, the traction light stayed on, leaving me concerned about potential issues during my commute, particularly passing through the Lincoln Tunnel. I brought my vehicle to Paul Miller Subaru dealership located at [redacted] Highway 46, Parsippany, NJ [redacted]. Unfortunately, they could not provide a loaner car, causing inconvenience as a parent of four children with numerous commitments. They claimed to have resolved the problem, yet an hour later, all warning lights reappeared. Research online revealed that many Subaru owners face similar issues and that a temporary code might be used until a permanent solution is available next year. I seek assistance in locating a dealership in my vicinity capable of implementing a temporary fix to allow me to drive my car without anxiety. Subaru has been my preferred choice, and I even influenced friends to purchase Subaru cars. However, my current apprehension has left me uncertain, particularly with my intention to buy an Impreza for my daughter.

I am seeking assistance regarding my [redacted] Subaru Forester. I recently completed a 6-year loan, and my car, which has 93,[redacted] miles, now has a rod knock. Despite maintaining it meticulously to pass it on to my son, I discovered oil consumption issues. Despite passing oil consumption tests, I consistently needed to add oil. This situation is heartbreaking as I believed in Subaru's reputation for durability and longevity. As I contemplate buying a new vehicle, I'm unsure if I should trust Subaru again. I plan to make a purchase soon, as my son now requires a car. Should I return to Prestige Subaru or explore other options? I seek Subaru's support to address this disappointing situation.

I couldn't locate a specific customer service department for compliments, so I'm sharing my positive experience here. My Subaru Legacy 2.5 from [redacted], bought with funds left by my late spouse, has been exceptional. Despite a recent accident caused by a driver running a stop sign, where fortunately no one was severely injured, the Subaru's safety features, including airbags, saved us. Even after being hit and pushed into a wall, the car remained intact. We affectionately named it "Scooby." It's disheartening that its value after the incident is less than $[redacted], considering its excellent condition with under 90,[redacted] miles. I am grateful and impressed by Subaru's design and quality, and I am keen to purchase another Subaru vehicle.

Hello! I own a [redacted] Subaru Forester S and I'm experiencing issues with the cruise control. The problem is that the cruise control button lights up, but the control stick doesn't respond, and the light on the dashboard remains off. I noticed a small green connector under the dash that was unplugged by the previous owner. When I plugged it back in, the check engine light started blinking, and three error codes appeared, including one related to the speed sensor (P0500). Despite researching online, I couldn't find a similar issue where the speedometer still functions properly. The speedometer seems slightly off by about 3mph, but I doubt the system correlates with the needle accuracy. I suspect there might be a conflict between the transmission speed sensor and the wheel sensors for the ABS system, causing the computer to act up. Unfortunately, the Haynes manual isn't helpful as the cruise system components are poorly labeled. I would appreciate any insights or suggestions on how to resolve this matter. Thank you!

On Tuesday, November 27th, I discovered a flat tire on my car. After contacting Subaru Roadside Assistance, it took them 2 hours to arrive and replace the tire with a spare, but unfortunately, they cross-threaded the lug nuts. This caused issues when attempting to switch back to the regular tire, resulting in the need for the car to be towed to Smith Caries Ford & Lincoln in Yonkers, NY. I then received an email on Wednesday from Agero Customer Success regarding a damage claim. Despite requesting pictures of the damage, I was not informed until 1 pm, leading to delays. I left multiple voicemails for the mechanic, Benny, but encountered communication issues. When approaching the manager, I was abruptly hung up on. The overall process has been filled with disrespect and miscommunication, involving Subaru customer service, road service, and the insurance company. As a teacher, not having my car has caused significant inconvenience, relying on rideshares to get around. I'm currently on hold with the corporate office, awaiting assistance to resolve this frustrating situation regarding responsibility for the damages caused by incorrect lug nut placement during the tow.

I purchased a [redacted] Outback Touring from Van Subaru in Kansas City on March 18th. Initially, I tried to buy it from Reliable in Springfield, MO but they did not return my calls. Eventually, I bought the car online from Mr. Blum at Van through email and text. Despite being promised a waived $[redacted] deductible on the warranty due to our distance from a Subaru dealer, it was not reflected in the contract. We were told by Van that our 6,[redacted]-mile service would be free and when we were directed to go to Reliable for service, they were unhelpful and refused to honor our appointment. We also had issues with a $50 test drive coupon that we never received. Subsequent visits to other Subaru dealers revealed technical issues with our car, including malfunctioning remote start and temperature display. Our most recent visit to Luther Subaru in Minnesota showed intermittent electronic malfunctions with our vehicle.

URGENT CALL NEEDED: Hello, I recently purchased a "certified pre-owned Subaru [redacted] WRX" at HANSEL Henry Curtis Ford in Petaluma, CA. However, I discovered discrepancies with the included packages and optional purchase options after examining the updated Monroney label. The car was missing several components that were supposed to be part of the deal, including STI clutch, shift knob, all-weather floor mats, fog light kit, STI alloy wheels with summer tires, wheel locks, rear cargo tray, and speakers. Additionally, keyless entry features were not as described, and various electronic systems were malfunctioning. I also encountered issues with the car's VDC, ABS, airbags, anti-theft immobilizer system, and TPMS. I am concerned about the safety of the vehicle and the dealership's practices. Please urgently contact me at 1([redacted])-[redacted] as this situation needs immediate attention. Thank you.

Hello, I am the owner of a [redacted] XV Crosstrek Limited with VIN JF2GPAKC9E[redacted]. Unfortunately, I have experienced issues with my CVT transmission. I received a remanufactured CVT from Modesto Subaru, which failed after 13 months, and the replacement from Shingle Springs Subaru also failed after just 30 miles. I am concerned about the repeated failures of the CVT and the lack of coverage for loaner or rental cars from SOA. I am considering trading in my Crosstrek for a [redacted] Outback or Forester, and I would like to know if the newer models have improved CVT transmissions. If Shingle Springs can replace the CVT again, I am interested in any incentives offered by SOA for purchasing a new vehicle. I have always been a fan of Subaru but have been disappointed with the recent issues. Thank you, S. Pitts

Hello, I'm Annette, reaching out on behalf of my husband, Andrew. On 11/24/[redacted], he leased a [redacted] Forester vehicle. On 12/10/[redacted], while parked in front of our home after picking up our daughter from school, the car started beeping uncontrollably and began moving, eventually colliding with our neighbor's car. Andrew was unable to stop the vehicle, as he couldn't turn the key or apply the brakes. Despite only driving [redacted] miles, we are now facing significant damages and safety concerns. We kindly request assistance in obtaining a replacement car and addressing the necessary repairs. Our financial situation is tight, and these unexpected issues are causing distress, especially for our daughter who is now afraid to ride in the car, and Andrew who fears driving it to school, worried about potential accidents. Thank you for your attention to this matter. Warm regards, Annette, a concerned mother
